Overall I was very impressed with the location and friendliness of the staff. I had mentioned that I had an early morning flight leaving Thursday morning and they had organized a cab in advance to drop me off at the airport. I also mentioned that there was a mosquito in my room and they even set up mosquito repellent for me. The service was superb and I would recommend this place for anyone looking to stay in Shanghai.

the room is pretty old (as it should be) and it is expensive. They cannot get my credit card to work which have been successfully accepted somewhere else in China for couple times. but the local is great and the people work there are very friendly. Room is old but spacious, the scale is off (though I don't care about it much.) didn't try the breakfast. what I am not very happy and I think can be easier improved are: 1. you have to have room key in order to use the restroom *in the lobby* which means after you check out, you cannot use the restroom (even though you can borrow it from the people work there) 2. there isn't much seating in the lobby.

Absolutely fantastic location and they provide an excellent breakfast. I was travelling with a friend and we had a large/very spacious twin room with a city view overlooking Suszhou Creek...... Room Facilities were excellent. There was a burn mark on the carpet but not an issue.

The staff were great, but English was a challenge at times. The location was perfect for tourists. Our room's heating system was not working and we had to move to a different room for our 2nd night

they had bed bugs thus upgrade me. long line up to check in and check out. concierge very helpful. manager was willing to work together with me. no clear signage on $ /phone call. expedia package didn't come with breakfast

Always a good location in Shanghai!
Superb location for this classic hotel near the Bund.The restaurant was good too! Loved our view of theBund, the river, and Pudong! Wish the staff had more English but their attitude was good and we got where we needed to every time
