Check in and check out are seamless. Room is spacious. Door only have one lock, would be great if can add latch. Location is near and walkable to West Nanjing. Cleanliness can be improved further but overall good.

The staff always smiles; they are very helpful. Fruit punch with ice is available to any guest walking in, just enough to cool down a thirsty tourist from outside. What I like most is the available in room laundry machine and dryer. In addition, the bathroom has natural night and nice view.

Laundry machine is combine washer and dryer in every single room. It’s convenient but not efficient. Staff are nice but need to improve their hygiene awareness, please don’t put bath towel in sofa. Hotel’s location is wonderful which is nearby subway can go to transport hub.

I have stayed here for many times. It has been great every time. Staff was friendly and accommodating. Area around the hotel was convenient. Lots of restaurants, shopping and easy access to public transport ( close to 3 subway lines)

Good location, and room has an air-con unit that is controlled in-room. I can decide if it's a cooling or warming function. Room is big. The shower room looks a bit worn out, but in-room aircon is really important because I stayed in another hotel in Beijing in the same trip that only had central aircon and it was only warming function for 20degC days..

It is definitely not the same standard as other Kempinskis in the world, as the property is in dire need of repair and refinement, and the service staff are less friendly than the typical Shanghai person - the check-in staff seem to operate in a way as though they’re doing us guests a favour, and behave with a very strange air of superiority complex - which is totally laughable when I remind myself this is a Kempinski, a supposed five star hotel in Shanghai and yet they feel it’s their duty to make hotel guests feel not great. :D However we were there for holiday and just shrugged it off as we did not want to let bad service affect our time in Shanghai. Cleaning staff were friendly and thorough, greeting and acknowledging us along the hallways, and could definitely teach the counter staff a thing or two about good customer service.

Really well located property, minutes from the famous Louis Vuitton boat as well as a shopping centre. Smooth check in process with the only extra's charged being a roll out bed. Little bit annoyed at the extra charge as the room description did say it slept 3 but in this case, it clearly didn't. Friendly front desk service. The breakfast was below par compared to other five star hotels, so this is one area that requires improvement.

Overall, I had a good stay. I chose this hotel for a longer business trip because it offered a kitchenette and laundry facilities. The laundry was very convenient, but the “kitchenette” was disappointing, as there were no plates, pots, or pans provided, making it difficult to actually use. The hotel itself is quite old, and it shows. There were scratches in many places, and the bathroom cabinet had visible water damage with a corner missing. While nothing was unusable, the property could definitely benefit from some refurbishment. Breakfast was decent, with a mix of Chinese dishes and a small selection of Western options. However, it became repetitive after staying for a while. The made-to-order egg station was a nice touch and one of the highlights of breakfast. Overall, it was a pleasant stay, especially for a business trip, but there is room for improvement in terms of maintenance and the kitchenette amenities.
