"If you want to have a lakeview, call Capital Properties. The lakeview cabins are all Time Shares. However, all pictures of the property on VRBO or on Expedia and even on the actual website all lead one to believe you are getting a lakeview condo. It did not indicate to call them before booking to inquire about a lakefront condo . The write-up did not how views of the specific condo, showing the outside in the woods. . We were not the only one. Our neighbor believed the same thing, hence real disappointment. We would not have booked there if it was not a lakefront property. As compensation for out disappointment, they waived the pet fee. Nonetheless, the condo was very nice, well appointed. The other resort amenities, especially the 9 hole golf course and the lake and boat rental were really nice. The location was near to restaurants in Cashiers and a grocery store. Highlands was 30 minutes away. The weather was heaven (last week in June). Capital Properties' staff was friendly and helpful, except for above."

"We only stayed for one night and it was a basic hotel stay. Check in was quick and easy, my room was clean and the air got cold. Got a great night sleep then left early the next morning. It was a basic hotel room. Nothing fancy or frilly, but I paid a basic price for a standard room. As long as it’s clean and serves the purpose, I’m happy. I’d definitely stay again if passing through the area."

"I would stay here again! We booked a last minute room for two week nights. Pleasant reception and attention by Baden! We bought a bottle of lovely white wine and a couple of beers from the nice selection in the lobby. Two stemmed wine glasses were in the sitting area of our room which had a large balcony with sliding screen door, chairs and a table where we could hear the "Big Creek" run. Lovely grounds, courtyard with fun toys which was kept tidy, and The Oak restaurant where we dined on our first evening, thanks to nabbing one of two later dinner reservations. We enjoyed pre-dinner drinks in the stylish comfy lounge where we had a great conversation with another couple, then were delivered to our table early for an upscale dinner with top notch service. Having said that, there were some hiccups which we informed upon checkout; concern was shown and notes were taken. 1) We did not want for hot water on demand. While the shower had nice hardware (hand held included) it was neary impossible to find a non-scalding temperature. The sink faucet handles were loose so water would not flow unless the bases were held while turning the handles. 2) Front desk replaced the battery in the electric fireplace remote, but it still would not turn on. 3) We had to dispatch several insects in the bathroom (well, we were in the forest) and 4) the structure is older, so folks walking in the room above our bed sounded as though they might fall through. Even so, I adore this lodge!"

"The staff was pleasant, the breakfast was cereal, boiled eggs, sausage sandwiches, cereal and waffles. No pool or hot tub. There is no fridge or microwave in the single queen rooms. Website says available upon request, which is false. The only option was to upgrade at $15 more per day to have a room wirh fridge and microwave. Otherwise, rooms were clean, I would stay again."

"We had a wonderful stay! The hotel is in an excellent location, within easy walking distance of downtown Clayton, making it convenient to explore the shops, restaurants, and local attractions. The property was very clean, well-maintained, and surprisingly quiet, providing a relaxing and comfortable atmosphere. The combination of a great location, cleanliness, and peaceful surroundings made for an enjoyable stay. We would definitely stay here again."
