"Location worked very well for our needs. Location was a bit sketchy but we came across zero issues with the neighborhood. Room wasn’t perfect and could have been a little more clean as there was a dirty rag on the floor and the bed sheets/pillows had some questionable stains. Best New Subs across the street was delicious and worth stopping by. Keep in mind all amenities, bathrooms, kitchen, lounge areas are all shared spaces. Doors to the rooms could have been more secured with deadbolts."

"The hotel was located in a great spot and was within walking distance to most of the places I wanted to visit. The breakfast buffet was good. My only complaint was I kept hearing what sounded like a knocking noise in my room. Not sure what that was coming from. Otherwise I enjoyed my stay. I would come back and recommend to others."

"Parking was difficult, trying to trek luggage around and find parking was terrible, but the staff was helpful. You can pull in front of the hotel and unload and they will hold your luggage. There is a parking lot behind the hotel, spaces were very tight and prices were about $45 a night. Hotel was built in 1893 so the rooms aren’t extravagant, they have character. Great location for walking the city. "

"Very clean rooms. Housekeeping doesn't clean rooms daily. Every few days, so I had to ask for clean towels. No big deal. Breakfast was awesome! Kiss the cook! Staff was friendly and hotel in the heart of it all. Great bagels next door. Will definitely stay there again."

"Great experience. Lobby area is a tad small but love to see the hustle and bustle of guests downstairs enjoying the amenities. Rooms were clean and definitely utilize our drink and breakfast coupons. We loved Emma as she was attending to us most days. Raymond I think at check-in was also quite helpful."

"The Ambassador Gold Coast was our first hotel stay as we embarked on an AmTrak Rail Pass trek across the country and back, and they set the bar very high! The staff was very helpful, the room was large with a big window, very clean, great bed, and nice bathroom. The buffet breakfast (included) was the BEST of the entire month-long trip! Everything imaginable, in a lovely comfortable dining room. Also, we were welcomed with free drink tickets at the bar, and an h'or d'oeuvre ticket that we didn't have time to use! We loved the Gold Coast neighborhood, felt very safe there, and this hotel remained an absolute favorite for the remainder of our trip. Thanks for getting us off to a great start on the trip of a lifetime! We hope to stay there again, and will recommend it to anyone traveling to Chicago!"

"The location is amazing. So many restaurants and shops. Easy access to Blue line train. Great neighborhood! The biggest disappointment was the breakfast. It was primarily baked goods that were dry and almost seemed like day olds. An egg frittata was served twice which was a great addition but it was flat like a pancake and cold. There was a toaster oven to heat it up which was helpful but seems unnecessary when you are at breakfast right when it starts. The overnight oats and yoghurt in the fridge were a nice addition and ‘saved’ the breakfast. For the kitchen facilities I expected more. I wouldn’t consider this a continental breakfast. Also, we encountered four different inn-keepers in the morning and only one actually spoke to us. A simply good morning would’ve been nice."
