"The hotel is a bit run down but it was a very good stay. All staff members were nice. If I was to change anything, not enough seating for meal service. We returned to our room the first day, skipped the second and found a place to sit the third but others were standing and wondering. The food was ok, the coffee was good but ran out frequently. We went at a time for seniors, and seniors drink coffee and we need to sit when we eat. Parking was amble and the parking lot was well lit. Overall, the hotel needs a face lift but still ok and we would stay again."

"4 day stay...we liked being in Hill City, SD because it was central to everywhere we wanted to go! The check in was smooth and the front desk staff was very pleasant and helpful. The room was clean, beds were just ok for me but my husband said it was very comfortable. Bathroom was clean. Nice all the way around."

"This was a great overnight stay. Fairly basic hotel, but the rooms were roomy with comfortable beds and bathroom that had sink and mirror separate from toilet and shower, which I find convenient for a couple. Very hospitable and helpful staff, including a warm cookie upon arrival. Also had one of the better informal breakfasts I’ve had, with cheese omelet and wheat waffles. Very walkable to Main Street restaurants and brewery, along with convenience store next door. Deck and fire pit overlooked the countryside. The maintenance issues were an empty hand soap container in our room and broken ice machine. The night attendant quickly resolved both. Our floors were also squeaky and you could hear hallway noise a bit but no issue overnight."

"My main problem was with the hotels. Com website not describing the rooms correctly. What is a room vs a bedroom? We arrived to find we had gotten a room that was like a motel and not a bedroom that was separate from the kitchenette, etc. we were very thankful that the owner worked with us and helped us get a cabin instead where we did have a separate bedroom vs 1 large room only. The website needs to be specific about the difference and what each room really is. We were thankful that he worked with us and the entire place was not filled up. We had an enjoyable stay thanks to the work the owner did for us."
