"A little run down"

Sheraton Kauai Resort Villas

"We stayed at the Sheraton Resort Villas, Kauai from July 14 - July 21, 2026. Our room was clean, and we had housekeeping every day. We were able to cook in our room, which had a stove, full sized refrigerator, and a dishwasher. The room also had a washer/dryer combo as well. The resort was clean. We enjoyed both pools during our stay, and reserved a beach cabana for one day. The service at the pool and on the beach was good. The food and drinks from Lavas restaurant/bar were good. We enjoyed an excellent dinner at the Rum Fire restaurant. The resort was a very short distance to shopping and other dining establishments. We took a day cruise to see the Na Pali Coast, and the catamaran location was only about a 25 minute drive from the resort. We also drove to Waimea Canyon and the many lookouts (about an hour drive), and enjoyed a picnic lunch while there. Concerns: While we could control the thermostat, and turn the air on/off, when the air did turn on, it was extremely cold and the vent blew very cold air over the bed area when it ran both day and night. There was no control on the air vent. After asking for assistance with this issue and not receiving any, I put a hand towel up by the vent to detour much of the cold air. I also feel that the extra fee (not uncommon) for parking ($40/day for self parking, and $60 per day for valet parking, both are plus tax), is a bit extreme, and probably should be included in the daily room rate, rather than an extra charge."

"This property has an amazing location! If you want Oceanfront, you get oceanfront! The beach access to Brennecke’s and Poipu beach was a short walk. They had an access gate that allowed quicker access to it. It was about 30 minutes from tubing and kayak excursions and the same to the Waimea port. We had great communication and easy check-in and check-out. We did arrive after 4pm but had no issues with after hours check-in. The main reason I had to give it 4 stars was because there was construction going on in the unit above us the last 2 days we were there. It was extremely loud banging that went on for over 2 hours after we return from our excursion. We were able to leave the first day but the second day was frustrating because my husband got seasick on the Nepali coast snorkeling cruise and needed to sleep. That didn’t happen. We would definitely return to this property but the construction definitely was disappointing considering the amount of money we paid for this week stay."

Aston at Poipu Kai

"This is a good spot for people with children as its an apartment feel and you have everything you need to cook, wash dishes or do laundry. The pool areas are dated but clean as well as the furnishings in the home. If your just a couple there would be more pampering in a hotel setting with out the hidden fees. Cleaning fees and daily amenity fres etc. this shouldve been included in original hotel cost. It was a separate charge for each day you stood there. And we were there several days and they never bothered to at least pick up the trash. Also there is noone 24hours at desk."

Marriott's Waiohai Beach Club

"We love this property! This is our second trip to Kauai and both times we stayed at this Marriott. The pools are saltwater and so relaxing to be in. We enjoyed the hot tub too. This property is located directly off Poipu Beach. Right down the beach you can see the turtles at sunset and the occasional monk seals. Many of the people who stay there are time share owners but we are not. We basically had a nice hotel room. The reasoning for the 4 stars was our AC. We had maintenance come in on 4 different occasions as the temperature would get up to 78 and not get any cooler. So we had 3-4 mornings trying to get dressed and it made the bathroom very warm. Al least in the bedroom we had the ceiling fan to keep the air circulating. The office did give us a credit on our bill for the AC issues."
