Holiday Inn Basildon by IHG
The staff were very accommodating even when we were early, they managed to sort out a spotless room with 3 double beds, and was lovely and spacious. The downside is the expensive parking £24 for 2 days. Not sure why it's not free. It's on a retail park.

The Inn on the Lake Hotel
Excellent dog friendly hotel. The hotel is next to a busy road so highly recommend booking a lakeside room which are much quieter, large and have a good view. Whilst the hotel is quite tired, for the price we paid and service we received, it represents good value. Meals in the bar well priced ...
