"Stayed here in Spring, which I suspect is a whole different ballgame to Winter. Location was great as we did not have a car. As others note it’s a steep hill to walk up but it’s not long. With many restaurants closed at this time of year having breakfast onsite and the option of buffet dinner at the restaurant was brilliant. The hot baths were great too. "Super convenient location from the train station (almost literally 100 steps) and to the firefly squid (hotaruika) museum (about 6 blocks). Staff speak minimal English and the restaurant seemed to be vooked for a private event one night (and there just arent a lot of restaurants in walking distance, let alone open on a Tuesday). The room was tidy and efficient. The beds were low, and nicely firm."

"I have visited this property four times since 2012. The hotel is beautifully nestled in the forest and lit up with pin lights, the rooms are lovely and spacious and come with a deep plunge bath. It is convenient to walk to the slopes, on the main shuttle service and one can walk to surrounding restaurants, bars and ski rentals. But what stands this hotel apart is the impeccable service from the amazing staff. During ski season they lay out your warm ski/boarding boots at the door, and they help you get transportation to the lifts. At the end of the day they greet you at the door with a smile, take your wet gear and swap back your warm personal shoes. There is a lovely lobby for an apre glass of wine and a fireplace for roasting marshmallows. They help you find reservations to dinner and help you sort transportation to and from. I travel globally for work and leisure, from the smiles to the can-do, and truly helping guest I have found rare a team that could exceed in provincially my an amazing experience. So hotel I give top marks, and for the hotel staff, double that. 👍👏🙏"
