Top Stranraer Hotel Reviews

The Portpatrick Hotel by Compass Hospitality

The Portpatrick Hotel by Compass Hospitality

8/10 Good
"The hotel is in a great position overlooking the harbour. We had an amazing sea view which they upgraded us to. It was clean but very tired. The bathroom wants desperately to be updated even though everything worked. It made the room look dirty even though it wasn't. The beds were springy could do with new mattresses. But as I said it was all clean and did the job."

"Had an easy, friendly check in, Views from reception were amazing. Had booked a balcony sea view room which was located down a flight of stairs. Room was large with seating and table. Bathroom a bit dated and noisy plumbing but shower over the bath was good. Nice big concrete balcony with lovely view over Portpatrick. Breakfast was delicious and all staff were nice and friendly. Would definitely stay again."

Glenapp Castle

10/10 Excellent
"We had a lovely stay at the Castle - the room was beautiful as was the food. The staff in the restaurant and those who welcomed us were amazing. Only disappointment was on check out we asked the history of the castle and were told by a very disinterested staff member to "look it up online"! We thought they would have been very proud to talk about the history and when it was built etc. Other than that we loved it!"

The Harbour House Hotel

"It is right next to the water and has a nice position and view of the rest of the small town (village). We would stay again if we had to, as we couldn't find a place to stay in the actual town of Stranraer the Inn is located in Portpatrick). It was adequate for the price. We ate somewhere else, but the restaurant seemed busy. It was also pretty quiet for a pub/restaurant in the summer, which we appreciated."
