Just got back from a 6-day break at Jumeirah Muscat Bay, and I can honestly say I’d definitely go back. The hotel is stunning — beautifully maintained and set in such a peaceful, scenic location. The staff were absolutely amazing: friendly, attentive, and genuinely welcoming throughout our stay.
Breakfast was excellent, with a wide variety of fresh and delicious options every morning. We also had a couples’ spa treatment which was perfect — so professional and relaxing that we both felt incredible afterwards.
A special shout-out to the yoga instructor who taught the Ashtanga yoga sessions on the beach. She was an excellent teacher — so calm, relaxed, and patient. Ending the day with yoga by the sea was truly a highlight of the trip.
The excursions offered by the hotel were also very good, especially the one to the Grand Mosque with Wabar Tours, which was well-organized and insightful. However, the dolphin watching and snorkelling tour was a bit disappointing, particularly in how a minor onboard accident involving a passenger was handled.
If I had to mention one small area for improvement, it would be to have a few more dining options in the evenings, as we sometimes found it difficult to get reservations.
Overall, though, Jumeirah Muscat Bay is a fantastic place to unwind and recharge. We left feeling refreshed and are already looking forward to our next visit.

The room was amazing with a good view. Club lounge and staff were superb. The only thing stopping a 5 star rating was the service at breakfast and in the evening at the main restaurant, which was slow at times.

a great beautiful property with a big time staff problem - not sure this a widespread Oman issue - it could be but i didnt try any other hotels in Oman, so i dont really know.
There is a staggering difference in staff professionalism and client awareness from the MO Oman and the MO Abu Dhabi - which i assign solely to the blatant lack of training of most of the staff - not that they didnt try to do the best they could at all times, which they did, and we have to be grateful for it, but the blunders are widespread at all levels of the hotel. Also the Oman property had clearly less space to develop than others that have been there for many years and as a result the whole place feels crammed into a nudge of available land - the residencies section getting more of space then the hotel itself (this was clearly a business decision that will come back to bite them. MO needs to look at this property with concern, provide more training and conduct a detailed investigation at how all sections of the hotel are working,
My suggestion: try other larger older properties in the immediate neighborhood (they have the Intercon and the W nearby) or go for the Grand Dame of Oman - yes older but still has it... The Chedi. Dear Mandarin Oriental: your Oman property is going to lag behind if you dont fix it

Huge apartment! Excellent everything. Such a relief after cramped (expensive) hotel rooms for my husband, myself, and three kids. The attached restaurant next-door is fantastic. It’s full of locals because of the quality. The nighttime barbeque is delicious. We had quite a packed agenda, and having ...

Very budget
We stayed here because everywhere else was booked out. It is value for money, and only a place you stay to sleep. It’s not comfortable to relax or spend time at this hotel. Very outdated furniture etc. Sur as a place is a cute and quirky place, has that feel that it is off the beaten track, which ...
