This is not a very large hostel but the staff was friendly and enthusiastic and the overall atmosphere was like being in someone's home.

Very hot and sweaty room. The ceiling fan was broken and there was a pedastool fan on far side of the room. After commenting about the excessive heat a second pedastool fan was added the next night. Staff were fine and the facilities were decent.

Hi Janelle, Sydney have been experiencing the hottest summer on record. The hostel is doing the utmost to keep guests comfortable, but the heat is beyond our control. We do apologise.

Shower upgrade
The showers needs an upgrade. The shower heads are loose and you have to hold them yourself. The same problem is to the toilet seat in one of the bathrooms.

Happy Place to Stay. Good Location
It was a fun place with good vibes. The staff were all very nice. The bathrooms were okay. The bed was very comfy and housekeeping was excellent. I missed having an individual light for the bed, but everything else was fine.

Sociable, homely atmosphere
Although the hostel doesn’t have the bells and whistles of some other places I’ve stayed it more made up for that with its homely feel and sociable atmosphere,I had a great time staying time staying there.

Nice hostel close to everything
It was good that there was a private shower and a bathroom in the room. I enjoyed my stay there, it was in a good location close to everything so it was easy to explore:) the only thing I didn’t like is that the house keeping staff was a male. I stayed in female only room and he comes quite early like 9am, most of us are sleeping or getting ready for sightseeing. He could at least come after the time of check out so there will be less people or if they have to do housekeeping in that early morning, they could assign a female to do it for female only room. Felt uncomfortable.

Excellent Experience
This place is a lovely and clean house with only about 10 rooms. It's very social and I met some great people and the staff is the best i have come across in a hostel - very caring and helpful. The atmosphere is relaxing and the location is close to all the main tourist sights and public transport.

Great hostel in great location
Great location in a very cool neighborhood close to the train station and easy for sightseeings. Nice and clean common areas where you can meet other people which was important for me since i was travelling solo. Loveliest staff who made me feel welcome and showed me the best things to do and see in Sydney.

The owners were really nice and welcoming, but this was one of my least favorite hostels. It had a culture of people living there longterm rather than backpacking. There are numerous signs that say no visitors and one of the people in my room brought a visitor back and the owner saw during “room checks” and just said that he was being naughty. There are only 3 bathrooms so I felt like I was regularly waiting in line for one. The kitchen and dining area are tiny. I picked this based on other reviews and felt like it was a totally different experience than I read about. It did have a great location though.
We are happy to hear you enjoyed our staff and location! We have won awards for having the hostel with the best atmosphere in Sydney so we are sad to hear you did not enjoy our culture due to there being a handful of long termers. We have a mix of guests staying with us, all traveling solo, who are interested in meeting new people which usually creates a great social environment. As the owners we definitely do not recall doing room checks and saying anyone was ‘naughty’. Perhaps it was a guest from a different room that snuck into your room and you confused them to be an outside visitor? Either way we are very strict about there being no visitors allowed upstairs. We apologise if you had to sometimes wait for bathrooms. You booked a room with a ‘shared bathroom’ so you may not realise that we have more ensuite/private bathroom rooms and there is usually no wait for these. こじんまりとしている印象でリビングでは映画鑑賞ができました。夜のキングズクロス周辺は路地裏に入らなければ大丈夫だと思います。駅近くのスーパーが便利です。 スタッフの人はとてもフレンドリーで、とても助かりました。 シャワールームは３つあり、毎日清掃してきました。バスタオルやシャンプー等は自分で用意する必要があります。

フロントの人はフレンドリーで対応も良かったです。 キングスクロス駅から歩いて6-7分程度で立地は良いです。バス停は徒歩1分程度。 ただ割と通りの多い道路に面しており夜遅くまでうるさいです。 部屋にエアコンがなく、私が滞在した1月だと少し暑かったです。 二段ベッドの上にはコンセントがなく不便でした。ライトもなかったです。 全体的に設備は古い方です。

The Hostel itself is fine to stay. As everywhere the bathrooms are not as clean as they are at home. For me there are a bit too much do‘s and don‘ts in the hostel if you stay longer than two nights. You just see negative rules and start to think about what is really allowed here.

Thank you for taking the trouble to write a review. I can assure you our German cleaner does an amazing job, cleans bathrooms twice a day, every day, but sometimes other guests are not as respectful as you are in between cleans.
