Good Value
Overall this hotel is a good value. It’s located close to restaurants, shopping and the water, the room was simple but clean, and the staff was pleasant, professional, welcoming and efficient. The only downsides were that the hotel restaurant was not always open during its stated hours, and the hotel has a weird system for wifi access. Otherwise, I would recommend it!

Stay was comfortable. Staff professional and accommodating. Easy access to great foods and close mall. My favorite place to stay when in Tacloban.

I work in a hotel and this is the ONLY hotel i know who ask guests for 500.00 upon check-in to serve as protection in case something went missing in the hotel room after checkout.What a disgusting welcome for guests! I booked for a triple bed for my son and his friends coz they took the PNPA exam, travelled 6 hrs to Tacloban..and they charged additional 600.00 because they are 5 persons. I thought they can share beds.So this hotel charge per head not per room. What if 2 couples with a child booked this triple bed, will they still charge them per head? They even informed my son there is supposed to be FREE food but since I booked online, they can’t avail it. So you want me to go personally and book so they can avail the free food? I’m in USA HELLO!?! I don’t recommend this hotel coz they treat guests as thieves.

The room was so bare. The bathroom dirty with some flies on the sink. There was a big cockroach we found in the room. The towels hang was old and smelly. You have to ask for everything from toothbrush, tissues. The hot water wasn’t really hot, the sink gets clogged. The room itself need some renovations. Even the Wifi was so weak and you have to as for a password everyday. But the staff was attentive to our needs.

Asia Star Hotel in Tacloban
It was a quick stay. The front service personell were very polite and helpful. Room was clean, bed comfortable and hotel was safe, secure. A few really good restaraunts close to hotel.

Dirty. Lousy wifi connection, on and off all the time and slow. Tv sucked, grainy. Not worth it. They really should renovate slowly, surely they’ll be able to improve one day.

Enjoyable stay if you're not too picky.
The staff at the hotel were professional and always happy to help. However, as great as the staff are, the hotel could use some repairs and upgrades.

During my first night booking from expedia, the room was nice and all. However on our 2nd day, we called the front desk asking if we can extend for another day in a room that can accommodate 3 persons. They did gave us that room, but with my dismay, the AC was not working properly, CR has leaks, the room was dark, other outlet was not working, and the area is not covered with WiFi. So I nicely asked the receptionist that my very first REQUEST prior to booking is about the internet connection situation since I am working remotely, I need at least a decent connection, what she said instead is to go to the lobby and work there. I did asked her if we can at least change room but she declined as there was no available. I paid 2,100 with a room having that kind of accommodation situation. I feel like it was not FAIR. I would highly NOT RECOMMEND this hotel if their STAFF will continue to give a POOR SERVICE to their customers. It was just frustrating because I was with a SENIOR CITIZEN and a 2 y/o child. Calling out to the management to give BASIC TRAININGS about customer service by HEART to their RECEPTIONIST most especially that they are the front liners of the hotel. And please, do something about your rooms. The name ASIA STARS HOTEL is so OVERRATED and MISLEADING with the kind of rooms that you have.
