We stayed at the Le Meridien for three nights after a delightful Dalmatian Coast cruise. The hotel is modern and well maintained, and service, room, cleanliness, etc was well up to expectations. What the hotel listing doesn't show sufficiently, IMO are that 1) the hotel is in Postrana, technically outside of Split (~9km from old town?), 2) the hotel is co-located with the Grand Casino Lav.
