Overall was ok. Small hotel and we had an adequate size room but would have been better with an extra stool/luggage stand. The hotel is about 15-20 minutes walk from Taichung station depending your walking speed and the number of intersections to cross. It's probably quicker catching a bus if there's one at the station already. The staff are helpful and helped with our queries. Even though we were on the 5th floor with windows, you're just facing another building about 2-3m apart. Try requesting one for a view of you can. The layout of the rooms are like on the outer square of the building whilst there is a hollow alcove right in the middle of the building. There's also a lift and stairs beside the lift. Because of this layout, sounds travel easily from next floors; eg kids shouting, loud noises, etc. We could hear people walking in their room above us on the 6th floor. The bathroom has a bath tub with shower and water spillage is only prevented via a shower curtain. I suggest aiming the shower flow away from the shower curtain or you'll end up wetting the floors and since it's a small bathroom, chances are you'll wet the foot towel and trash bin in there. There were also mold in our bathroom as I suspect there's not good ventilation in there. There are a lot of shops (snacks, eateries, knick-knacks) outside the hotel and bus routes that can be caught quite easily. There's complimentary coffee, tea and charging sockets in the lobby area. Check out the guide book there too.
