"Check in quick and easy. Parking was busy but always found a space. Room was clean and functional, cleaned daily although often not until well into the afternoon. The safe was not working when we arrived but was fixed almost immediately on notifying reception. The food, both breakfast and evening meals, was very good quality with lots of choice. The gym was out of operation which we were not aware of before arrival - there was no indication of when it would reopen. The swimming pool has 2 water slides, only one of which was working during our 6 night stay, and that one was temporarily closed on and off all day for lifeguard breaks. Changing rooms were clean. Be aware that the 'spa', being the jacuzzi, sauna and steam room, are all in the very busy main pool area . The jacuzzi was frequently taken over by groups of small children despite the 16+ rule (although I think a slighter younger age restriction such as 12+ would have been fine). We used the golf driving range - free loan of clubs and you just pay for the basket of balls. A good activity for those travelling with older children, even beginners. Staff were all courteous and eager to help. I would recommend this hotel for families with children primarily. It is well located for exploring the surrounding area and is very child friendly."

"We stayed for 4 nights. The food was excellent and the breakfast offers a huge variety. The staff are really friendly and the hotel was very clean and well maintained. We were looking to book but it again for the following week but was fully booked in no time. It's only 15 mins drive from Belfast International Airport."

The River Bann Retreat

"Nice place. Miss the personal welcome, it makes a difference. We received a blank check-in email and had no one to help or even a number to call. Thankfully they responded quickly to the email help request so we received our full check in details without too much delay. Some cleaning issues eg mould in shower. Poor quality gowns, bleach stains on them and no gown belts, poor quality towels. Both things fairly tatty. We booked for 2 adults and two children - the apartment was only set up for 2 in the double bed. Sofa bed bedding left on the floor. They provided only 3 towels, and not enough shower gel. Hot tub was lovely, too hot initially so we waited to cool it, then it was cut off at midnight - really disappointing as we had had to wait for it to cool then got about 10 minutes in it!! Thought the open fire was great, but nothing to light the fire had been provided and there was not enough firewood. Overall itโs a good spot, good location and great potential but definitely improvements needed. Wouldnโt categorize it as luxury glamping due to the points highlighted."

"Really nice hotel and amazing staff. The one thing I would say is that itโs not very well connected, the train station is around a 25-30 minute walk from the hotel and the train to Belfast are every hour (10 past every hour) so itโs a little bit of a pain to get anywhere. However canโt fault the staff or the hotel. Itโs located near lots of a good food places and a supermarket on the door step"
