"Very nice clean hotel with very friendly staff. Michelle provided very good service and shared some interesting history about the hotel and the local area. Evening meal and carvery was excellent. Very convenient car park also. I’d recommend staying here."

"A new modern property clean and comfortable definitely pet friendly we had our dog who loved climbing up the steep garden that may not suit an older dog. Hot tub was excellent and a good drying room for towels etc. Unfortunately the lack of hair dryer did create a bit of a problem. Owner was very friendly and helpful when we arrived. We would definitely go there again if in the area. "

"Very friendly welcome and lovely spacious room. A thermos of fresh milk was ready for us every evening on the reception counter for tea/ coffee in our room the next morning. Breakfast was delicious with excellent selection of fruit, yoghurt, granola and choice of cooked breakfast. The location is excellent too. A short 10 minute walk and you're on the beach at Instow. Overall a very enjoyable and relaxing stay. "

"A lovely find hidden away off the main street. We only booked the room an hour before arriving but were made to feel very welcome by the young lady behind the bar. Breakfast was cooked by Phil and was delicious and he came out and had a lovely chat with us. I would highly recommend. "

"We had previously eaten at this hotel and were so impressed that we decided pay another visit and stay the night. We were not disappointed. The room was excellent. Every member of staff we met were warm and friendly and the cooked breakfast was superb. Appledore is such a lovely destination and a stay at the Royal George makes it all the more special. "Loved the location and great breakfast. Downside very steep narrow stairs and bedroom furnishings a bit tired. There's only street parking with time limits in summer. "
