The room was peppered with mystery stains and fluids throughout. Unable to change rooms or get money back. Sub par repairs done to room, bathroom was in terrible shape (toilet was not mounted to the floor correctly, shower leaked, mold, shower rod was hanging on by a single screw on both sides. Not two like it required.) Roach seen 2 days into my 5 day stay. Housekeepers didnt go through my belongings though, i know this because they barely appeared. Like emptying off a table and a small trashcan and leaving. Same sheets the whole time, towels were prestained so i had to buy a towel from walmart. You get what you pay for.

We have always stayed at Stratford as its closest to everything we need to be. The staff is always helpful and chexknin is easy. The rooms are clean.

Room was outdated.
First of all they said my reservation room was not ready it was being worked on. I had to take another room and it was 15.00 more. When we entered the room it had a very heavy smell of some kind of spray. It was so strong. The room was very outdated. I would not stay again. We had a PKG of coffee for one person to have one cup. More needs to be put in room. It was my husband and I.

The ceiling was yellow, stained and leaking directly over the toilet. Asked to change rooms. The next room didnt have a working microwave. The blanket had cigarette burns and was stained yellow on the inside. Would not recommend. They need to invest in renovations. I still added another night and was changed $100.

I literally booked the last room in the hotel after arriving in Temple late evening. Overall, my stay was good. The clerk was very pleasant and helpful. The room was good. The property appears to have been renovated over an extended time with the kitchen and flooring being recent updates, but the sink area was not renovated. I checked in after midnight using an after hours window, and I felt safe doing so. The property is across the street from Scott & White hospital, and 5 minutes from the VA. I would stay again.

Disappointed overall. Very noisy group above us. Had to call the front desk at 1:00 am. Beds very noisy. Horrible sink condition, bare wood showing in bathroom from missing laminate, very dirty electrical outlets, torn up lamp shades in room, no washcloths available, no ice bucket. We checked in at 10:00 pm. Clerk not friendly and acted suspicious of us. Weird experience.

Could be worse?
You have to check in from the outside, rain or shine. The clark was rude and could not speak english well at all. I have seen rooms less clean and they need to improve on this. The housekeeper was friendly. Cockroaches in the room.

Just don’t waste your time. Rooms smell nasty. Beds are dirty. Towels and old and nasty. Guy at check in will let you know the pictures provided on the website are not true to what you purchase. The suite has the kitchen and couch and is an additional $15. I would expect to pay $45 for this room and that would be too much but appreciate.

Roaches and nasty mattresses!!!
We booked this at a last minute deal due to my son being in a motorcycle crash in a nearby hospital. The first night we got in so late, we were exhausted. The sheets smelled bad, plus there were roaches. We asked the mgmt to change the sheets and do something about the roaches. They changed the sheets, and found a dead roach, so I figured they solved the problems. WE WERE WRONG! I went to make coffee and there were roaches behind it and it wasn't the sheets that smelled, it was the mattress. They offer us another room, but if roaches are in 1 room, they are probably in all of them. We had booked for a 4 night stay, but they wouldn't refund the other 2 days, so we left. Be warned!!!! If you love your family, don't make them stay in this filthy hotel. DO NOT BELIEVE ANY POSITIVE REVIEWS!!! They must have been left by paid employees.

The room we stayed in was awful. The bedspread was filthy (top and bottom) and there was a dirty washcloth still hung on the shower rod. Seedy people in the parking lot and cutting around the building via our room (at the end). Worst hotel decision I've ever made. We slept on top of the sheets (which seemed clean) for a few hours and hit the road.

Upon entering the room we were overcome with the dank smell of mold from the A/C. There was one thin towel in the bathroom and one dirty drying wash cloth hanging on a hook. A mystery-stained handicap chair sat next to the commode. A 4’ section of the lavatory had fallen off and was propped against a wall. Lamp shade ripped & comforter had a large burn mark in it. Nasty. We turned around and immediately checked out of Hell.

This property was so dirty it smelled like cigarettes and dirt. Water was cold linens were dirty towels and washcloths had stuff on them. I only stayed bc I needed rest but otherwise would have just walked away

Never again...
Hotel.com really needs to visit these places that you help advertise for. Nothing absolutely nothing was as it is advertised as. The room was not cleaned nor sanitized, the room was a smoking room n was advertised as not. The bedding was horrible n the chairs were stained....for the price of the night. It is not a family place to stay....it is rented out to men with different jobs. And no type of breakfast as advertised either...NEVER AGAIN

Very run down not at all like the pictures. The staff was not very helpful they made us feel like an inconvenience. The rooms were dirty. Thankfully we had our own bedding to use. We will not return.

Even though Stratford House is going through renovations, the rooms were clean and tidy. The room prices were good and they accept pets.

My check in process was horrible. I bokked and paid for my room 2 days in advance of my stay only to arrive and be told that they cant find my reservation. Finally after waiting outside for 30mins, the gentleman brings me a piece of paper saying that I need to pay onsite after I've already paid online and have shown proof of so. Finally I was given a room that was not the same type of room that I paid for only to be woken up the next morning to have to come down and talk to the correct manager all over again. My stay was horrible overall.

Close to Baylor, Scott & White and the VA hospital (reason for stay). Ease of access to the hospitals and plenty of choices of food in the area. Very easy to get in and out of the property. The room was spacious and clean. The staff were prompt and friendly.

Rude clerk
The room was nice, clean, comfortable. However clerk was rude and had no idea about Custer service. First room, I could not find where to turn on air conditioner. Clerk said she didn't know either so put me in different one. It had a different type of air conditioner so found on and off switch easily. Add said coffee pot in room but didn't find one I. Either of the rooms. Didn't ask clerk about since she had already been upset cause I asked questions.
