"Reception normally shuts at 7:30PM and I missed the fine print when making my booking. They were kind enough to make themselves available for me to check in at roughly 9PM as my flight didnโt land until 8:30PM. This was a great relief as I was attending a funeral the following day."

"Staying at the Duke is an amazing experience. One of New Zealandโs oldest pubs on the beachfront in one of New Zealandโs oldest town. Well maintained and spotless rooms, ours had a great balcony - just the place for a G&T - before a leisurely dinner on the terrace looking out directly over the bay - with an excellent food and wine menu. Helpful, knowledgeable staff and great transport options add to the experience - free parking behind the pub or frequent passengers ferry services across the bay from Paihia. And all pretty affordable given the venue and the location."
