"It's no more than a "pod" hotel, where the room was the minimum for sleep and bathroom amenities at a minimalist scale. But that being said, the room was excellently appointed, they had great service, an excellent coffee and food service for breakfast and light dining, and helpful staff."
"The Gainsborough Bath Spa — ★★★★★
My family and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Gainsborough Bath Spa. It is beautifully located and an easy walk from the train station, making it particularly convenient when arriving in Bath.
The hotel has clearly benefited from its renovation. The rooms are spacious and comfortable, the bathrooms excellent, the towels luxurious, and the air-conditioning remarkably quiet. The shower has outstanding water pressure. Breakfast was excellent, and the staff throughout were warm, courteous and highly professional.
The spa is a real highlight. The baths, sauna, steam room and ice room are beautifully done, and we found the whole experience exceptionally relaxing. Congratulations to the management on a very successful renovation.
I had read reviews mentioning noise from outside, but this was not an issue for us at all. Bath becomes remarkably quiet in the evening, and by the time we returned from dinner the neighborhood was essentially asleep.
We also enjoyed the hotel’s own restaurants, but I would particularly recommend the Architect Bar & Restaurant, just a short walk away.
Overall, this is an extremely comfortable and well-run hotel in a great location. We would happily stay here again and recommend it without hesitation."
"Stylish and modern hotel, clean and tidy during my visit. My greeting by the reception staff was good and explained everything that i needed to know. Room was lovely, clean, comfortable and well maintained. If i was being picky, an extra chair would have been beneficial.
Bar and restaurant were fab and the staff attentive.
No fault of the hotel but the lack of parking on site means using very expensive local NCP (the hotel did have a discount card to reduce your parking charges, but longer stays are still expensive)."
