"It was very nice, only criticism I’d have is we arrived 10 mins late for breakfast which we’d paid for, so were told they missed it 😔they hadn’t even finished clearing away and considering they serve food all day, I’d have thought they could of offered us something rather than recommend a cafe by the river, so a bit disappointing on that score."

"Easy to find, plenty of parking. Easy and quick check in. Owners are very friendly and helpful. We had the double room above the pub and it was a really nice size with tea/coffee, fridge and ensuite with shower gel, shampoo and towels. The place could do with a bit of an update, run down in places. The plug in the bath did not work and the shower trickled out so cleaning off after a day out walking was difficult. Lovely peaceful location, 20 mins drive from York and can see plenty of the North York Moors from here without driving for too long. Obviously this room is at a pub, so it is noisy in the evenings so don't expect an early night. It was a perfect base for us."

"We stayed for two nights in room 101. All good at sign in then we went to the room and tried to sign in to the WiFi to work…nothing. I rang reception who explained how to sign in as no instructions on the tv or room. That detail was explained but still Wouldn’t sign in. So I took my iPhones to reception and it immediately signed in. We later found out that IT had been working on it all day so the hotel guests entirely were not able to access WiFi at all. I was furious that reception knew this but decided or was instructed not to be honest. Honesty from the start is so important. No work undertaken for day 1. Day 2 it was still the same but the reception staff provided an alternative to all me to work because I had business meetings. The bathroom sink has an awful smell coming up through it when some water is run. A little treatment would sort that out."
