Things to do in Barú

Activities, attractions and tours

We were at the end of our Panama/Costa Rica trip and had actually just decided to cut it short because I was starting to feel sick. But we had this last hike to try out and I was just hoping both that I would feel well enough and also that our car would be able to make it back on the very steep gravel road back from the parking spot (after almost getting stuck around Monteverde earlier on the trip). As we’ve been getting used to we were first to arrive so we had this awesome place completely to ourselves for a little while in the morning before other tourists started to drop in. It really felt like a fairytale. (Oh, and the car made it back okay!) #nature #costarica #centralamerica #waterfalls

If you are lucky enough to be at the central pacific coast of Costa Rica, don't forget to visit the Nauyaca Waterfalls. Not only the waterfalls are beautiful, as you can see, but the road to access them is quite a ride!

Photo was taken at sunset on the ledge of a 600ft drop of Diamanté waterfall. Beyond the ledge was an amazing view of the valley 1010 meters below. A truly spiritual experience!
