Niagara Falls may be the iconic American vacation destination. With its blowing winds and powerful water, there is no better place to appreciate the forces of nature. No visit to Niagara Falls would be complete without a trip on the Maid of the Mist boat tour. In 1864, the stately Maid of the Mist earned her crust as a ferry service between the US and Canadian sides of the Niagara River. Now this venerable lady is one of the most popular tourist attractions in the Niagara Gorge, drawing millions of visitors every year.

Take the spectacular Cave of the Winds tour at Niagara Falls, one of the world’s largest cascades. Bring a waterproof camera and prepare to get wet; this tour brings you within exhilarating striking distance of the torrential waters.

Good things come in small packages and this is certainly true for the Aquarium of Niagara. Perched on the United-States side of Niagara Falls this aquarium is a stone’s throw from Niagara Falls Park and definitely worth a visit.

Whirlpool State Park runs along the east bank of the Niagara River, presenting the opportunity to experience the full force of a natural whirlpool and class V rapids. Follow the marked trails to viewpoints or observe the river from a picnic area. If you are feeling adventurous, step aboard a power boat to splash through the rapids.
