"Only things l would change is fix the toilet seat so it does not fall down after lifting it. Also put the number back up on the room l stayed in. The view was a cement wall and random garbage in the corner. I mean other then those minor things it was great stay"

Donald Gordon Hotel and Conference Centre

"The Donald Gordon Hotel in Kingston was fantastic. Housed in a beautiful historic building that was originally a private residence, it has operated as a hotel since, I believe, the 1980s. While the rooms are traditional hotel rooms, they are exceptionally well appointed, and the beds are very comfortable. The staff were incredibly welcoming, friendly, and helpful throughout our stay. Breakfast was outstanding, with a great selection and excellent quality. The grounds are picturesque and give you the feeling of staying on a stunning historic limestone university campus. For anyone visiting students at Queen's University, I would highly recommend the Donald Gordon Hotel. It's conveniently located right on campus, and the complimentary parking is an added bonus. All around, it was an excellent stay."

"We were in room 614. 2 bedroom suite with kitchenette and 2 bathrooms. There were 6 of us so 2 people sleeping on the pullout couch. Our only complaint was that couch. It needs replacing, very worn out. Location was great! Within walking distance to a lot of restaurants and right on the water. Would definitely return here."

"Efficient, friendly and welcoming staff at front desk. Lovely rooms, very spacious with nice linens. Air Conditioner works great although a bit loud. Breakfast Bento boxes were a wonderful treat in the morning. Perfect location for sightseeing, eating and drinking. Will definitely return. Handy parking, whether within the hotel or nearby."

"If you plan on using the TV, bring y our own streaming service - the one the hotel uses really distorts on the screen (we were watching World Cup soccer). So do the Google/Casting thing. Not all room are the same size. Avoid 202 or 302 as they are very small for 2 people. They are great for dogs and very helpful. When we went they put us in 202 (2 people and dog), and you couldn't really use the desk as the chair would hit the foot of the bed - and there was no room for a casual chair. They promptly moved us to 340 which had a wing-backed chair and was just that much larger. Not everything goes perfectly, so I put a LOT of my satisfaction ratings into how staff handle things when things go wrong, or aren't to your satisfaction. It's the recovery that counts hugely - and they handled it very well. They moved us promptly, when we ran out of soap they offered to run some up right away. Brought up proper glasses when we asked for them (rather than the plastic things), etc.. I found the staff well empowered to handle customer concerns and address them - and that is so critical. We will stay there again and recommend it to friends."
