"This hotel is amazing. We’ve been coming here as a family of 4 for over 7 years and every time it’s great. We’ve especially come for the pool and breakfast which are both excellent. I’d like to highlight the exemplary breakfast staff who do their upmost to make sure it’s special. Special hot chocolate? No problem. Special hot muffins? No problem. We use the family sized rooms and they’re great for a family of 4 with 2 big kids."

"Bedroom was clean but needed some maintenance. Disappointing stay for the amount of money. Buffet breakfast not upto our usual stranded. No hash brown. No mushrooms. Extra charge for car parking which is not noted on the website! Ridiculous price at £20 per night. Definitely wouldn't stay again. Only positive is the location. "

"We had a pleasant stay overall. The house was clean and tidy, with a good heating system that kept the place comfortable. The kitchen was well equipped with enough utensils for cooking, which was very convenient. We also really enjoyed the Jacuzzi during our stay. The only feedback we would mention is that it was sometimes difficult to reach the host when needed. Additionally, the shower in the bathroom did not have enough water pressure. Aside from these points, we had a nice stay and appreciated the comfort of the house."

"Standard of Housekeeping cleanliness in bathrooms well below par. Handling of complaints abysmal. Your duty manager appears to believe that because the rooms are ‘old’ customers should accept mould, scaling & improperly cleaned toilet. They did change rooms, 2nd room frankly not much improved with similar issues plus someone else’s hair on the shower wall. I asked the receptionist for compensation, refund of 1st night should have been offered as they couldn’t move my room - or clean it to an acceptable standard, and a 2nd free night as compensation for that & for the room key not working. She told me that they can’t do refunds as I booked online. She did offer me a free breakfast, which I didn’t want & which was not anppropriate compensation for the state of the bathroom. I asked her to refer my complaint to Hotel Manager. They did not acknowledge or do anything about it. Whether she couldn’t be bothered to flag my complaint or the Manager couldn’t be bothered to address it I don’t know. Neither is acceptable. Appalling service. Asked for compensation"

"Staff gave a lovely warm welcome. Ollie and Will ran the bar with excellent customer service skills. Room was nice and spacious with plenty of toiletries etc and nice fluffy towels. Spa was disappointing, only has a steam room and a sauna, had expected more rooms after such a major refuribshment/investment. £20 for use of one outdoor hydro pool is a bit epxensive. "
