family
. The breakfasts are good, I just wish the evening menus gave more choice. The beach is just a minute walk away and you get a dedicated sunbeds for the length of your stay. The swimming pool is nice too. Of course the Thyreann Sea is just the clearest you could wish for. Bella Calabria ❤️"

"Antonio and the entire staff are great. I had a very nice room and everything appeared to be new. Very clean and fully equipped. The view of the island of Cirella is spectacular, especially during sunset from the restaurant terrace. I sat there with my beer and just enjoyed the surroundings. My only suggestion is use softer pillows. I found them to be very hard. Loved the staff and breakfast and Calabrese hospitality. I would stay again!"

"This was an lovely BNB. It is in the historic district, so be aware that you cannot drive and park near it. You will have to walk about 5 blocks or so and climb stairs to get there. It was worth every step. It is an adorable place with outstanding service, great breakfasts and unbelievable views. The only remark I can make is, like most Italian beds, they are hard. "Il Santavenere is definitely a 10/10 experience. From the moment you arrive you are in a true oasis - just what you want from a break by the sea. The staff are all (and I mean all) friendly, personable and helpful. The rooms are luxurious, including the beds and washrooms, without being overly showy. The views overlooking the sea are stunning. Maratea itself is definitely a nice little town and Il Santavenere is a hidden gem in Basilicata. We're already planning our next trip back and can't wait...
