-friendly, with a place to walk right next to it. However, it's suffering from neglect, some of which would not take much fixing and would make a great difference. The garden is wonderful but overgrown. Despite the busy road it's a peaceful spot, so a bench to sit and listen to the birds would be nice! The building has some interesting features, but I had to ask for information and was given...

"The compasses Inn was a very well organised friendly and relaxing place to stay. It was easy to find using Google maps from the app (which is saying something!) Good parking, although this can get busy with the pub and restaurant in the evenings, however we always found a space, getting back before 7 in the evening or after 9! Extremely quiet considering the Pub is below - we heard nothing!

"A cross between a wedding venue, a gym/pool and a motel. The motel 'garden' rooms are v tired. But ok for a cheap overnight stay near the A303.
