"It is a nice hotel even though the entrance way is ugly. The staff are very pleasant, especially the gentleman who checked us in and served us breakfast. We didn't get the same warmth from the owner. The 'free toiletries' was a small bar of soap but this seems to be the case in a lot of the cheaper hotels. We stayed in the deluxe double room which while nice, wasn't deluxe. The bathroom window also backed onto to an area where bottles were discarded and it was easy for someone to see in.

"Large rooms with comfortable bed right on the beach. Easy walking to many tourist shops and many restaurants. Lots of fresh seafood available from these restaurants. Staff was very friendly and eager to help with a smile. The restaurant prepared a seafood grill each night and set tables with candies at the edge of the surf. "I had a lovely stay; the location is super, the staff very friendly, good breakfast & lovely pool! The oasis of the garden offers a quiet break from the busy town & streets. Walking distance from the restaurants, beach, supermarket & shops. I would not hesitate to book again! "

"Stayed here many time. Staff amazing and place really beautiful. I wouldn’t stay anywhere else in Unawatuna. Good Wi-Fi in communal areas (doesn’t quite reach all rooms). The eco friendly question hotels.com asks is difficult to answer. They give lots of bottled water, which I guess isn’t very eco-friendly - but that is what tourists want. I guess maybe if they had a large central water dispenser people could refill bottles for that would reduce plastic use. I think some tourists might complain though.
