Beautiful view, dirty, no water.
The view was spectacular for our $190 US per night charge. The balcony is not private very noisy. No water shower, sink, toilet 2 out of 4 days. The room was extremely dusty. dirty cups and spoons. Mattress is old and bowl shaped. Hotel doesn't provide nearly enough water to drink, brush teeth and make coffee (they only provide 1 liter per day). Linens smelled bad, we couldn't use the towels the last day as they smelled so bad like dirt and crackers. Nice free hike beautiful views (wear hiking shoes) Spanish speaking guide. Kind staff.

I love the vibe and the views at this place! Best hotel in the area by far. Way better price and views than the overpriced Hotel Mirador.

Creo que el hotel podría mejorar en cuanto a comodidad y sobre todo en el área de los alimentos ya que es la única opción que hay en la zona.

Clean building, fabulous views. If you are a pet lovers you'll love the stray dogs galore, gorditas with dog fights under the table. Careful with takeout food, dogs will snach it out of your hands and linger outside your room door. Hotel grouds have dog feces all over. Use cash only, my card was hacked resulting iin minus 700 from my bank. I used card at hotel and tour guide. Who knows! Staff was great, hotel rooms, bar and loft super clean but dogs and hotel grounds not so much. Hotel needs to get with the modern age and provide free wi fi and tvs. Nature is great but some of use are use to certain comodoties.

The view was priceless but that was really the highlight. No options for food, which is overpriced in the restaurant, squeaky floor above our room was maddening. Not much to do in the hotel, except play chess in the bar and admire the view.

Location, location, location!
The main building is quite grand. The rooms with balconies are old and a bit tired, but clean. Balcony furniture is adequate. But the view is the draw. The staff goes through the motions but is not interested in customers. Our porter demanded an additional ten pesos to his tip bringing our two small bags to the room. We carried them ourselves when we left. Food is mediocre but sufficient. We stayed at other hotels throughout Copper Canyon for 1/3 the price and found all of our hosts cheerful, helpful and a delight. But Divisadero has only a few options at the most accessible views of the canyon when traveling by train. The gorditas cooked over old oil cans fired by wood at the train stations are wonderful and certainly an option.

Everything was perfect! That is the best ever. It does not have pool, it has a canyon a few steps away!!! The zip rider jus amazing, this is "once in a life time" thing to do. And please do not forget: drink a beer along the big window with the whole canyon at a nine feet. You have to visit this place.

Fabulous views of Copper Canyon
Perfect situation right by the edge of the canyon with amazing views. We only stayed 1 night as we were travelling through the canyon. Room was clean and relatively comfortable - beds could have been better. Nowhere to eat other than the hotel restaurant - set meals with little choice and expensive but food was good.

Spectacular Views of Urique Canyon!!
This was our second visit to Hotel Divisadero Barrancas. The view of Urique Canyon from our balcony was fabulous! (Do ask for a room on the top level with a balcony. I would feel cheated if I traveled all that way and ended up in a spot where I couldn't appreciate the view from my own lodgings.) Getting up really early to watch the sun come up was glorious! It seemed to us that some upgrades had been done since our first time here in 2015. October has been a wonderful time to experience the Copper Canyon both times. Excellent weather.

OUTDATED Rooms + Dishonest staff!
BAD: We chose Hotel Divisadero because their rooms with Balcony by the Canyon. At our arrival Edilma, said that those are not available. WHAT? Why do you offer them if you don’t have them? She noticed our frustration and said, “ok I will assign you the2 rooms but there’s a little bit of noise because we are doing some fixes” We agreed, because we were looking forward to enjoy the view in A balcony. Once we got there, we got NOISE and DISAPPOINTMENT. Rooms don’t look like shown in pictures. They look sad and outdated. We didn’t have hot water, and in room #49, heater didn’t work. UGLY, at dinner time, we were robbed by restaurant staff!! We were celebrating my dad’s birthday and they took advantage of the situation. A waiter “told us” (w/o showing the check) that we owe $1700mx. Food was simple and the amount for 4 dinners seemed expensive, but we didn’t want to make a scene by checking the bill in front of my dad, and since we were joyous, we paid + handed a tip of $500mx, which was the 28% (great tip!). Also the bartender told us we owe $900mx. We paid and gave him a $130mx tip (14%). Next day, we asked the receipts and we were SHOCKED. Those guys robbed us!! The checks were for $1000.00 and $600 respectively. We accept our fault of not reviewing the check, but what kind of hotel take advantage of their guest like this, especially when we were very large at tipping them? WORST We asked Edilma to investigate the issue, and regretfully NOBODY in hotel or corporate’s offic
They charged 1700 instead of 1000
They charged 900 instead of 600

Worst hotel in Copper Canyon
If hotel had not had such a fantastic position overlooking the canyons, would not have stayed there. Food was not good and pricey. Hotel bar had good staff. Rooms basic with paper thin walls. All balconies were joined together with no privacy so if you are unlucky enough to be next to party people, as we were, you have to put up with the noise and disturbance.

Beautiful views
Simply breathtaking views! And the service hotel manager Mario provided us non-Spanish speaking guest was extraordinary. His service was extended to all guests of course but make us feel just as important as anyone else. the rooms; need work. Tired, in need of some quick fixes but the housekeeping staff does a great job. Great place for hiking, accessing the cable car and the adventure park. Eat at the hotel restaurant or purchase food form the local open air market. No other choices in the area. We did walk to the next train stop where we found a restaurant in town for breakfast... a few more choices there and the walk's only about 3 miles.

Retreat to Copper Canyon
We loved our experience at the hotel. The views are spectacular out every window , patio or terrace. This is a must see place. The food is reasonable and it is a one menu situation. salty for my tastes but others maybe fine with it. The bed is supper hard and pillows non supportive. The toilet also kept running which we stopped. They are very welcoming and the hotel itself is beautiful and there are many artistic displays inside and out. It is a great place to see the native population in their habitat. If you like zip lines and Teleferiques, they are also in the area ( a 2 klm walk0. This is a great place to hike as well. One could make an adventure vacation for a week in this paradise.

Great Hotel on the edge of the Copper Canyon.
Had an enjoyable and relaxing two nights (three days) stop over at this hotel whilst travelling on the Copper Canyon Railway (El Chepe). It's definitely worth staying at least two nights so that you have ample time to enjoy the many walking trails, the nearby adventure park (which has the world's highest zip lines) and other tours on offer the nearby districts. The lobby bar and restaurant both have incredible views over the canyon. The hotel offers a set menu for breakfast ($190 pesos), lunch ($220 pesos) and dinner ($210 pesos) if you can choose to eat there. Each meal includes a number of courses and the food is good. The staff are very friendly, professional and helpful and speak good english. Jump on the free 'Sunset Walking Tour' with Martin (he is excellent) at 5.00pm each day. Also, Martin offers a morning walking tour (starting at 9.00am) for a small fee which takes you around the lip of the canyon to the nearby adventure park.

Gorgeous views but BOOK YOUR OWN TRAIN beforehand
We were warmly greeted by Mario upon our arrival. We had asked for and received rooms that face the Copper Canyon. Stunning views.** Word to watch for**as of March 01, 2016 you can NO LONGER purchase Train Tickets on the train or at small stations such Divisadero. The Hotel graciously offered to go online and buy tickets using my credit card for 7 of us travelers. When we got back from our excursion I was handed our train tickets and noticed the receptionist had TORN the bottom portion off indicating how much the tickets were so I asked how much was put on the credit card and she handed me a little scrap of paper with the total. After much insisting for an actual receipt with the total she finally gave it to me and I saw that they had charged me 377 pesos extra for each person in ADDITION to 5 % service fee. It was almost 50% service fee. Mario was kind enough to call the head office to discuss this on our behalf and after much arguing they have agreed to give me the money back. I just arrived home and there is a request for my bank account information to put the money into my account. It is best if you book your tickets yourself. If you have mobility problems best to ask for rooms closer to the office as the rooms up top with the most spectacular views are a lot of stairs up and down.

Great views, service and real charm
Wonderful experience at this rustic Mexican hotel perched right on the canyon, literally in the middle of nowhere. Room was very tidy with balcony overlooking the canyon. The views are truly spectacular. Beautiful public spaces make you feel right at home. The staff were extremely helpful, my son has bad food allergies and they had no problems preparing safe meals especially for him. The whole copper canyon experience was very special and I can't wait to bring the rest of my family back to Hotel Divisadero Barrancas.

The most impressive part is the view. You wake next to the beautiful canyons. The staff is very friendly and assist you with any needs. The room was clean and spacious. The food was very salty and there isn't much to choose from. The Adventure Park is only a 30 minute walk. If you ride the train in, it's a 3 minute walk from the station.

Best hotel...
We love this hotel, people from staff was very kind and helpful, clean rooms and the best views are on rooms that have balconies. The tour guide is very nice and love to help, he also offers taking care of our 2 years old daughter at the Parque Aventura. Food was included and we are vegetarian, staff from restaurant made us a special vegetarian dish that they don't usually offer. People that work there really knows how to make you feel like if you were in a paradise! Thanks for the best trip ever!

Annoying Experience with Hotel.com
We were double billed on our credit card by Hotel.com on April 19th for $327.00 and it is May 26th and we do not have a refund. We were made aware of the Double Billing by the Manager (Maria) of Hotel Divisadero. We enjoyed our stay. We called hotel.com 3 times and send emails. We talked to someone in India and he talked to the manager to verify and promised we would be reimbursed, then we call Customer Service the said the hotel hadn't credited them yet, Then we emailed telling hotel.com we deal with them not the Hotel Divisadero and want to be paid back. My friends, family and us are not using the service until paid. What an annoying experience
