We paid for the more expensive suite but were told that hotels/expedia had made a mistake. We were told we had been upgraded but the room was disgusting. Dead flies in the window sill. Doors rotten. Wires hanging out of the walls. We changed room twice none were any better. Given the price this is a total rip-off. The hotel doesn’t care because they don’t rely on repeat business. Personally I would stay further out and walk to the Ghats. The breakfast and Wi-Fi were both adequate
Very special place to stay. Easy to walk to and from everywhere along the ghats, and nearby marketplaces. Anywhere else easily accessible via transport which can be arranged by the helpful staff.
Would not recommend this property. Extremely dirty, found multiple bugs seconds after entering the room. Mouse hold in the room. Photos do not match what it actually looks like. Hotel staff was sleeping on the floors of the hotel.
Please update your photos to reflect what the property actually looks like as it is very misleading. We left immediately to go to another hotel. Would not recommend.
Worst stay ever for a pricey hotel. Booked the hotel (2 rooms) through hotel.com seeing the pictures for Trishul room which was Rs6700 a night. Upon reaching the room there was a urine stink in the passage and room. Apparently there was a sewer opening that was not closed properly and there was a crack in the lid. Booked two rooms of same category but got different category rooms. The wifi of one room was down and the management kept assuring us it will work after some time but it never did. The bathroom had mold, towels were smelling and dirty and toilet flush was not working. Another big issue was electrical plugs not working. The next day spoke to the manager/owner and he callously told yes the hotel had issues and they are trying to fix it without any conviction. We had free breakfast but didn’t feel like eating there because of bad experience of stay and didn’t want to risk our health with unhygienic food. Complained to hotels.com but they got very shallow response from them. I feel so bad because I forced my friend to book this hotel as it was looking nice.
Personnels très sympas ! Propreté a revoir ! Les serviettes et draps sont pas nettoyés correctement . Ils devraient investir dans machines a laver et sécheuses . Hôtel très bien situé .
if we consider the position this is perferct: just on the Gange, with a fantastic view of the River. If we consider the hotel itself then the problems start: talking about the rooms don't get attracted by the definition of "suite" that is simply ridicolous. Not to talk about the service and the conditions of the room: at 5 pm the room was not yet cleaned and vc was leaking for the 2 days I spent there !!!! I would not repeat such experience

On the river/hidden in narrow alleys.
Budget hotel but in a great location with a view over the ganges. terrace restaurant overlooking river. Quite an adventure to weave through narrow alleyways to find the poorly marked hotel. Needed to ask a dozen locals where next to turn to get there.Very convenient near the top of the stairs of one of the ghars. short walk to the Aarti ceremony. don't go there if you have a lot of luggage.
The location is excellent as it’s right on the river. It’s a very old property that’s been renovated (heater didn’t work and shower required buckets) but worth staying there as it’s right in the heart of everything. Staff were very friendly and helpful.
The hotel is perfectly situated on the ghats and is close to all the main riverside attractions. I stayed in the Saptarishi Suite for two nights and was very happy with the room and the value I received. The room was clean, had good climate control (both fans and an ac unit that worked), good hot water (with a working shower head), good toilet, and an amazing view of the holy Ganges. The WiFi was also reliable, and they had an affordable laundry service. The restaurant was delicious as well—it had a wide selection of Indian, Chinese, and other dishes, and I ate there for breakfast and dinner each day of my stay. The best part, however, was the staff. They really went out of their way time and again to make guests comfortable. I asked for directions and information several times and they eagerly assisted. They also organized taxi drivers for me from Varanasi airport, to and from Sarnath, and to Bodh Gaya at reasonable prices. They also provided tons of free bottled water each day, which was an absolute must in the humid climate and saved me a little money. I’ve read some reviews complaining about the hotel being inaccessible by car and hard to find among the confusing riverside alleys; however, I informed them of my arrival in advance and they met me at the taxi dropoff point on the Main road, carried my luggage, and led me to the room. I don’t think you’ll find a better value with hotels along the ghats, and you definitely won’t find nicer staff!
