Personally we liked that it was outside of the island of venice. It was in a quiet area, but super convenient to the airport and to a frequent bus that takes you right to the island.

Wouldn't return here. Room was very unimpressive. Beds were as cheap as you can get. Had to pay extra for airport shuttle (25 Euros) - which wasn't disclosed on Hotels.com, and staff argued profusely that it wasn't their problem. Hot water came on and off. Walls and ceilings are paper thin - very noisy. Pretty low end hotel. Easy bus access though - if you can figure out the bus system.

The hotel is well situated near the airport and two restaurants are wthin a two minute walk. The buffet breakfast was very nice with lots of selection. Staff were extremely attentive and helpful. The "bed" was two twin beds pushed together which means there was a ridge down the center of it. Not the most comfortable configuration for a couple.

The room was awful. Heavy smell of disenfectant. Smelled so bad that I left and found another hotel. Unfortunately it was non refundable so I had to take a loss. I will not rely on ratings from Expedia ever again

Excellent location, convenient to get to from Piazzale Roma, and from hotel to airport via bus. Very clean. Very good breakfast. However there was a huge issue with another couple coming into our room around 10:15 pm. We were in room 102. They had a key and were able to enter our room. They said they were in room 104 but for some reason the key they were given worked on our door. There were no deadbolts to prevent this. The front desk said they accidentally give these other guests a master key. Very unsafe!!

Very nice staff. Clean large bathroom with good pressure. Outside looks questionable, but inside is very nice. Colors restaurant was great recommendation by staff for dinner and very cheap !

Highly recommended after many visits over 3 years
Stayed in the Marco Polo many times. A great venue for visiting Venice or passing through, ten minutes from the airport and opposite the bus stop that takes you to the Piazza Roma in the heart of Venice. Marco Polo is in Mestre and therefore on the landward side from Venice (about 20 minutes away). Hotels here come in at around one third of the price of hotels in Venice, and with parking. Based in Marco Polo, we spend the days in Venice, have dinner there, then take the No.5 bus back to the Marco Polo, which then goes on to the airport. You can buy from Marco Polo reception a 24hr ticket for the bus and Venice water buses, which offers great value. The hotel staff are multi-lingual, very helpful, are open 24hrs. There is a bank & ATM opposite, a couple of good bars and food stores. Try to get a room facing away from the street, which can be noisy at night. Breakfast is a buffet, and average for a 3-star hotel - not a banquet, but more than adequate. Highly recommended.

There were hairs in our bed and on our pillows which made us think this bedroom had not been properly cleaned before us. Also, the walls were coloured on with what looked like crayon and the windows had no soundproofing. You could hear everything from the street below.

During the stay 2 staff was friendly & helpful & we felt staff was rude. On Wednesday we booked day trip to Dolomites I requested a staff to make sandwiches because we have to reach to stop which was away from hotel one of the staff said they will take all sandwiches stuff out we have to prepare our self & they don’t have any packaging for sandwich but evening staff sorted everything & we got enough sandwiches than on Wednesday morning I asked the morning staff for cup of tea & juice for my kids & said we don’t serve breakfast before 7 am so sorry. He was rude towards us. Room facilities was ok but there was no intercom in room we have to go down to ask reception which was inconvenient . Room & bathroom was clean, airy with plenty of light.

This was a great hotel after arriving late at night to Venice. Staff were very helpful and waited for us to arrive past midnight to help make the check in process easy for us. Good breakfast and clean rooms. Definitely recommend.

Good Service with a Friendly Smile.
My girlfriend and I arrived in Mestre on a rainy day and the smile of the man at reception really gave us a warm feeling upon our arrival to the front reception, the room was small but clean, however the toilet was a bit dirty, the breakfast provided was inadequate as there weren't much varieties offered and on some days the water and food items weren't replenished, however we had an amazing time in Venice as we were recommended to lovely spots to see by the lady in reception the next morning, as she gave us a thorough explanation, overall we enjoyed our stay here at the Marco Polo Hotel and we would definitely visit again when we come back to Venice next year.

Check in was very good and they allowed me to check in earlier as the room was already available and that way I could drop off bags and head out to Venice. Bus stop super close that leaves you at Piazzale Roma. My only complaint was wifi wasnt working well in the room and I had to go to the lobby to connect.

NO AC!!!! Didn’t get any sleep!
Overall it was terrible!!! NOOO AC! We sweated the whole night through even full on melted our bars of chocolate it was that hot. Don’t stay here unless you want to sleep in sauna.

TERRIBLE HOTEL
This is the worst hotel. Do not book. I selected this hotel because it said it was multilingual staff and the guy who checked us in only spoke one language. This made it super hard to check in while it was late. On top of this the rooms were FILTHY. The sheets were dirty and had hair on them, the pillows were stained and the walls were dirty. The bed is horrificly uncomfortable and the pillows are terrible. When we complained to the front desk they offered us no help and did not compensate for their mistakes. Staff was rude and unhelpful. Worst hotel overall.

Location from cruise terminal and airport was great. Was not happy the air conditioning was not turned on in late May. Room was very hot. We opened doors on balcony and traffic was so loud all night that we were unable to sleep.

Great Value for Budget Hotel
This is a budget and economical hotel in Mestre, but it does offer clean and safe accommodations. Our room for two was spacious. It's not exactly close to Venice's tourist locations. Venice is a quick 20 minutes local bus ride for 2 euro, or 40 euro taxi ride. But the local bus is reliable and runs every 30 minutes; the nearby bus stop is one block away. We chose the hotel for the review and free parking for our rental car. There isn't much to see in the hotel's neighborhood. The location is not the best part, but the hotel makes up for it by excelling in great customer service. The hotel staff were always warm, friendly, and accommodating with our requests. Superb free continental breakfast is offered each morning. It helped start our vacation well every morning . Overall this hotel was a great value.

...Hotels.com...my stay here was very good, UNFORTUNATELY..., my bect booking through you to Split, Croatia, made at past 2300 hours on Dec 2 for that night to a hotel whose desk had closed 3 hours earlier AND I would have to TAKE A FERRY TO GET THERE !... tried finding any contact # for anyone proved futile, so you will be hearing from my credit card company...you totally dropped the ball on this... think the phone call will cost me over $20 on Verizon International Rates...

Good location for visiting Venice
Hotel location is great as you are a short distance to the Marco Polo airport and the city of Venice. There is a local supermarket nearby and few food outlet. Hotel is clean and the staff were very polite and they can arrange transfer to the airport/cruise terminal for a fee.
