"This hotel is like walking back into time. Who overs a long shoehorn with their name printed on it. They do! I rest my case. If you are staying in reggio Emilia this is the only place location wise you want to stay. It’s in the middle of historic center which I kind to stay when on vacation. They offer a lovely breakfast for a fee, but a nice coffee cafe is next door. A small bar is attached, not open Sundays Ftont desk provided all the answers needed. If you are coming in o town by train and using the central station (there are two), it’s a 5 min tide to hotel. The furniture in the room is dated but that is what provides the charm. My corner Room was not huge but more than adequate with a comfortable double twin bed making into a king; armoire and desk. The bathroom is updated with plenty of hot water and excellent rain head shower plus handheld with soap and shampoo attached to wall. One last thing about the city. If you are a gluten free vegetarian you will have issues. Reggio Emilia is all about the meat"

"We wanted to love this.... It had so much going for it. The design is fantastic, it was charming, and comfortable, and had high quality finishings. The reception staff was so kind and welcoming. The location is good, we walked all over the city and were close to a lovely piazza... The only downside was a big one though - due to the design and everything made of concrete/cement with an open narrow courtyard with restaurant that extended upward and no elevator (meaning all guests walked up stairs) echoed like crazy - we stayed one night only (Saturday) and were up until 1am when the noise, talking, laughing, and all the heels clacking up every stair finally quieted down. We were awakened around 7am with the same sort of noise - you could literally hear everyone's conversation word for word - it was just way too loud for us!"

"Our stay was a little disappointing. The exterior of the property needs maintenance, with a deteriorated facade and overgrown areas. Upon arrival, there were strong unpleasant odors on the lower level, and seeing piles of bed linens in common areas was not a good first impression. The room itself was acceptable. The sheets were clean, and the air conditioning worked very well. The best part of our stay was definitely the breakfast area: it was pleasant and clean, the bathroom was very well maintained, and the staff were friendly and attentive. Overall, the property has potential, but it needs more attention and maintenance, especially in the exterior and common areas. With some improvements, the guest experience could be much better."
