"Traditional resort hotel, the Bella Riviera is very central in Viareggio, on the main beach road. As a solo traveller I usually have to tolerate a windowless room behind stairs, so I was delighted to be given a lovely room at the front with a balcony and a sea view. The daily cleaning kept the room and en-suite spotless, the breakfast was a varied buffet and the staff were friendly and helpful. My only complaint was the noisy air con. "

"Second time staying at this beautiful property. What a treat to stay at this perfectly preserved beachside resort. So elegant! Front desk told us it’s all original to the early 1900’s and it’s wonderful. Breakfast buffet is superb. Dinner menu changes every night and we enjoyed dining in 2 of our 3 nights there as the menu, service, and food is better than anything across the street at the beach. Lunch by the pool is no exception to the fabulous food and service. The hotel, and area in general, had a Studio Ghibli vibe - antique and old world infused with modern amenities. We pulled up “Kiki’s Delivery Service” on Netflix and snuggled together watching it our first night. If you know, you know. If you don’t, watch the charming movie!"
