The location is excellent, staff were nice. In hotel price for drinks was way too high and limited. So just avoid that and go to a local spot nearby and there are plenty. While the hotel claims Air Conditioning it is in fact only available during certain seasonal times. We were here late April in hot weather and had to sleep with windows open and there is a LOT of urban dust/dirt in the air.

Everything was fine at the hôtel, except the breakfast buffet: absolutly awfull ( cold eggs, no fruit, smal variaty off meat etc)

Overall the location is good and just steps away from the market. I gave 4 stars because it doesn’t have the old Vienna inner city feel of it, but the property shows its age.

Great location and size
Property staff was friendly and helpful. Room was a good size. Missing some upkeep if the property: ceilings were peeling from water intrusion. Would be best if they put bags in the trash bins or if they cleaned them thoroughly.

The Hotel is very well located for most of the historic attractions, which are many, around central Vienna. It’s a very friendly hotel with clean comfortable rooms and a really good breakfast selection. There are lots of excellent restaurants and cafes within the hotels vicinity. Fantastic stay in a wonderful city!!

Hotel Secession is a nice property, quiet, large room, very conveniently located in central Vienna, walkable to many sites and very close to multiple modes of public transportation. The breakfast is quite expensive but there are many alternative options within the neighborhood.

Great location
Our rooms were extremely comfortable and clean. The location was ideal: within walking distance to most areas we wanted to see, and near many train/bus stops. There was a nice little courtyard where we could enjoy coffee or drinks.

This is a good hotel for price and location as it generally within walking distance to many wonderful restaurants and attractions. The staff is also generally amazing, courteous and helpful, however there were unfortunately a few that also stood out in not the best of ways. The breakfast offered is a hard pass as it unfortunately just isn't worth it. There are plenty of amazing restaurants, cafes, and breakfast options all around the location that can be enjoyed that are worlds better for a fraction of the cost.

As a first time visitor to Vienna, I selected Secession an der Oper because of its location. I wanted to be able to walk to most sites important to a visitor, but also wanted easy access to rapid transit options to reach locations a bit to far to walk. Being steps away from Naschmarket was perfect for me! I went there every morning to get my days started with coffee and a nasch! So many choices! Besides all of the above, the hotel was very clean and well-maintained. Staff were very courteous and helpful. I would stay here again without hesitation.

Over-rated hotel
The hotel appears quite tired and in need of modernisation. The room, although of a good size lacked any character. The breakfast was poor in comparison with other hotels of similar standard. Staff were friendly and helpful. In my opinion this hotel should be classed as 3*.

The staff were very helpful, and speaking in English was a bonus! The decor is outdated, but the room was clean, and since I am only in my room to sleep, the decor is not a priority for me! The location is in very good area, in relation to main attractions, such as Hofburg, St Stephan, shopping, Naschmarkt, museums, and your pick of cafe!s!

The hotel staff was very friendly and helpful with good orientation to the city and suggestions upon arrival. The hotel itself has an antique charm with spacious rooms. The room was clean and I n-room amenities included a mini-fridge, kettle, and espresso machine. The hotel is conveniently located near a train stop and is not a far walk from the imperial complex. There are a plethora of dining options nearby as well as ATMs to appease the numerous cash-only establishments.

I really liked this place. They were welcoming to my dog. The location is right neat the Karlsplatz U1 line and the Night Markets. My only issue is that the image Expedia provided is not even close to what I got. The room was ok, but I thought I was getting more of a suite and instead I got more of a large room.

Wonderful location.
This hotel was in a great location for using the underground train Or walking from downtown Vienna. The breakfast was very nice with hot eggs, sausages, cereals and lots of pastries. The room was spacious.

The central location of this hotel made it very easy to walk to all of the main tourist attractions within the city centre area. The hotel was also very close to the underground station and with the Viennese transport system being so good it was very easy to get further afield if needed. We would certainly recommend this hotel to anyone else who wishes to take in the main sights of Vienna. We had a room (apartment) which had kitchen facilities and with a Spar store close by this meant it was very easy to self cater breakfasts and/or lunch if needed. Even though our room was road facing the sound proofing was excellent so we had undisturbed sleep. All the hotel staff were welcoming, friendly and informative. This hotel helped make our time in Vienna a great holiday.

Stayed in twin room for 3-nights--on 4th floor. Quiet, clean. Very easy location for walking and dining. 3-blocks from Opera, and 1 block from Karlsplatz metro station. Pleasant quiet bar-area as well--for evening sitting. Breakfast room was congested--single coffee machine and always a line. Otherwise no issues.
