The hotel was clean, comfortable, quiet, and spacious. Plenty of parking, it was close to the black sand beach, it offered a wonderful free buffet breafast, the beds were comfortable, it had a large shower, and the staff was cheerful and super friendly. Great hotel.
Loved it! Front desk staff was wonderful and extraordinarily helpful with information about local recommendations. The location is perfect as it is centrally located and directly across the street from Black Sands beach. All of our excursion and tour meet-up locations were within walking distance of hotel. Love ❤️L’Occitane hotel products. Lots of surface/ storage area in the rooms. Parking is easy and readily available.
Got a free uprgrade to a corner suite with beautiful views. Like all the other hotel rooms we have stayed at in Iceland very hot and unable to get any air in.
Hotel was fine; nothing super, nothing bad. The only problem was closed restaurant what cause problems to have dinner (there are not many placed nearby to eat and there was a lot of people looking for food)
Everybody was very nice. I showed up early because the plane arrives early in the morning and instead of making us wait to check in they upgraded us to a cabin that was available for the duration of our stay.
Not sure how to really say how serene this place is. Recommend highly if you are looking to actually relax on vacation.
we have been to Iceland on 5 separate occasions. Each time we are on the South coast we stay in Vik at the Icelandair Hotel Vik. The staff if very attentive, location is great and the hotel is in good shape. It is a must stay

Disliked: Cleanliness, room comfort
Functional but not worth recommending
Other than this hotel being in the center of Vik.... it was a disappointment... upon entering room... floor had a big patch of clear substance that we cleaned off without making a fuss.... floor was dusty and WiFi very spotty...for its price... I dun think I will ever come back again...
This hotel is lovely, comfortable, and in a stunningly beautiful location. The mountain, cliff, and sea views made the corner room and its floor-to-ceiling windows worth the slight increase in cost. The staff were very accommodating and helpful, and the shower was especially delightful. My spouse and I enjoyed our stay here and appreciated its proximity to the black sand beaches with its piano-organ-style cliffs. I would absolutely stay here again.
Icelandair Hotel Vik was very nice. The room was very clean and comfortable, and the staff was very friendly and helpful. In reality, I'd give it 4.5 stars, but that's not an option. Would definitely stay there again!
Had a great stay at this hotel. When booking, I recommend requesting a room in the main/new building. We lucked out and had a spectacular view of Reynisfjara beach, which we were able to visit first thing in the morning (avoiding the crowds). The breakfast was great and it’s a short walk to restaurants for lunch and dinner. I highly recommend this hotel!
Room was clean and had everything we needed for a two night stay in Vik. We chose to include breakfast, which we felt was a great value in comparison to other restaurants in the area.
Service was slow when we arrived in early evening, no one was to be found at the front desk. We spent 14 days in Iceland staying at 10 different hotels/AirBnB's and this was the most disappointing hotel of our stay. In comparison to the other Icelandair and Fosshotels we stayed at, this Icelandair hotel was way behind the times.
