"The location is fantastic—close to all the main attractions with plenty of nearby parking options. The staff were friendly and welcoming, and we were pleasantly surprised to receive a room upgrade on arrival. The room itself was spacious with an extremely comfortable bed. The clothes rack and hangers provided more than enough storage for our two‑night stay. Being at the back of the hotel, the room was quite dark as it faced a wall—not a major issue, though we were treated to an early‑morning pigeon cooing on the window ledge! The rainfall shower was lovely, but the wet‑room style ensuite meant water didn’t drain properly and pooled near the toilet. On our last night we found ourselves pushing water back toward the drain which isn’t quite how you want to spend your time. Storage in the bathroom was also limited; the only place for toiletries was the large windowsill above the toilet, which isn’t ideal for keeping toothbrushes. Towels were small, and one was ripped with holes, as though it had been damaged. The TV worked fine, though we couldn’t turn off the subtitles—a minor annoyance. Overall, the bed was the highlight: huge and incredibly comfortable. If not for the pigeon alarm clock, I might have had my first proper lie‑in in years Overall really enjoyed our stay at 19 Duke Street, location and bed alone makes it definitely worth a visit!"

"We loved this hotel. It's in a great location close to the train station. The staff was really nice and allowed us to leave our bags early prior to checkin which was helpful. The room was very spacious and clean. The beds were comfortable and the fans kept us cool. The breakfast buffet was tasty with a lot of choices. We also tried the Sunday Roast at the hotel restaurant which was pretty tasty too. We parked a car on our second day and it was easy to park in a lot up from the hotel and the front desk validated our parking which made it free. We enjoyed our two night stay."

"The hotel is fabulous! Located literally next door to the Cavern Club, the town centre and a pleasant 5 min walk from the waterfront, it is soooo handy to get to everything. The in house bars and restaurant are also great, serving great food and staff with many a local story/knowledge about the town and tours, places to visit and recommendations on food and days out, I have been there now 3 times and will always return to this hotel. We were allocated a room literally above Mathew Street (Cavern Club and many bars/restaurants which were very very noisy and upon request were moved to a room the other side of the hotel and upgraded for free. Superb service 😃"

INNSiDE by Meliá Liverpool

"I was disappointed with my stay at INNSiDE by Meliá Liverpool. The standard room was very compact, with very little space for luggage and only open shelving rather than proper storage. The bathroom layout was also a major issue. The sink is inside the main bedroom area, the shower cubicle is also within the room, and the toilet is in a very small separate cupboard. This open-plan bathroom setup was not made clear enough on Expedia, so it came as quite a shock on arrival. I would not recommend this hotel if you value comfort, luxury, or privacy when using the bathroom, especially if you are sharing the room with someone else. For the price, I expected a much better room layout and overall experience. Unfortunately, I found the hotel very expensive for what it provides, and I would not choose to stay here again. And take your own pillows!!! Thye are awful !!"
