Wish they provided soap, shampoo and conditioner, but the room itself was a lot nicer than you would expect from the outside view of the motel. Overall for 70$ a night, its hard to beat.

There was spiderwebs by the shower. Three spiders in there. The shower was dirty. Bed was way to hard felt like I was laying on pavement.

The inside of the inn really counts!

Scenic river is the only place to stay in Wartburg. Unit #8 is clean inside and looks newly painted with new flooring. The mattresses need updating. The family who runs the inn are friendly. The outside of the inn needs a lot of attention.

Bed bugs! Do NOT STAY HERE! Walked into the room and it was absolutely disgusting! Looked on the bed and found bed bugs. Took the pillow to the office told them we were not staying and left. Thankfully we did not take anything into the room. Just disgusting place!

Hidden gem

This is a gem find right in Wartburg. Shopping to do some research at Frozen Head State Park. The staff was very helpful and polite and was a pleasant overnight stay.

Refused to honor my service dog. Had to call my credit card company to get my money back for the stay. Absolutely the rudest staff ive ever ran into. They yelled at me and ripped up my receipts told me no refund and to leave.

Don't stay unless you have no other choice!

The rooms are very outdated. The towels and sheets were stained and dingy. Not sure if the bath mat towel was even washed! The only good thing about the room was that he air conditioner.

The bedsheets and bath towels were visibly dirty. The restroom and shower were unclean. So much so, we couldn't even take a shower. Doors didn't shut probably. And the deadbolt wouldn't lock.worst motel/hotel I've ever stayed in.

This place has bed bugs. Everything is outdated. They charge way too much to stay here. I mean i picked up the remote for the TV and there was a bed bug on it. I got bit multiple times in my sleep. There is no other motel in morgan county unfortunately, but i think I'd rather sleep in my car. The owner has also had multiple court cases due to sexual assaults. Not very safe.

No TV couldn't check in at 8 o'clock when i got there, no one in the office. called the number on the door 6 times and no one returned my call for over two hours and he finally showed up after 1, No room on the bathroom sink to even put your tooth brush it was so small , mattress was terrible and had lots of evidence of bed bugs , slept on top of bed spread , next time I'll sleep in my car

Upon arrival we walked into our room and flipped on the lights. Immediately a slew of cockroaches scattered. There were even cockroaches throughout the bedding! We left and lost our money due to their "no refund" policy. No amount of money could have convinced us to stay. DO NOT STAY HERE unless you want to come home with a suitcase full of cockroaches!

The name Scenic River Motel is quite misleading. This property is not maintained in a manner that is up to commercial standards. I arrived to check in at 6 PM with the intent to stay out late at the Obed Wild and Scenic River to star gaze. The front desk did not answer the doorbell. A motel unit (under age) resident came out of his room and gave me instructions how to enter the motel office. The lady in attendance was unable to communicate in English but she did give me key card to my room. Eventually, an attendant who did speak English knocked on my door. He instructed me to pay with my credit card (I assumed that I had already pre-paid via Expedia). The grounds surrounding this motel most unfortunately looked shabby, with old mattresses left outside leaking against the front side of the motel and some discarded material from interior of one room laying on the front yard lawn. I pointed this out to the attendant who took my credit card (and who I assume was the manager). I’m surprised local authorities have not inspected this place. This is the town of Wartburg’s only motel. It should be required to be properly maintained. Its exterior appearance should be brought up to standard. The room was basic and clean. The air conditioner was in functioning order. The stopper in the wash basin sink did not close.
