"We loved the pool. It was the perfect temperature and clean. We were very comfortable in our room. The all-you-can-eat breakfast was delicious and at night we enjoyed the juice and hot chocolate that was available for us. The staff was kind and friendly. They gave suggestions for restraunts that were just perfect for us. "

"We had a really magical few days at the property and Garmisch. Such a beautiful place, especially in the snow. Aldi nearby in the car and a walkable restaurant which was outstanding. The host allows use of sledges etc which my boy loved and some beautiful places to walk the dogs too. Honestly couldn't fault anything and host very helpful if required. I didn't want to leave!!!!"

"An excellent hotel with a great location and delicious breakfast and dinner. Walking distance to the cable car and with beautiful centre of Garmisch just around the corner. Our room was clean, spacious and comfortable for the family of three. The room was very well equipped, including free beverage in the fridge (Arolser beer was a particularly good one), Nespresso machine as well as slippers and bathrobes. Selection of food for breakfast and buffet dinner was excellent and delicious - bravo to Chef! The only ideas for improvement are to update the pool area and to reduce the waiting time at the dinner in days of set menu. I would be happy to come back again!"

"Celebrated an anniversary and birthday while staying at the Waxenstein. An anniversary card and chocolates in our room and a special birthday breakfast table with champagne for my wife’s birthday. All unexpected but greatly appreciated. No doubt our future trip to Grainau will include a stay at the Waxenstein."

"Beautiful location, on lake a few minutes drive from center. Wonderful, bavarian style furnishings. Large bar with open fireplace and wonderful restaurant on 2nd floor with views. Modern room, great breakfast, friendly staff."

"Perfect for US Military – Large Rooms & Amazing Breakfast!" ​I had an incredible experience here and highly recommend this stay, especially for Americans stationed in the area. One of the biggest perks is that they accept VAT forms, which made the process so much easier and more affordable for us. The accommodations were top-notch: ​ The Rooms: Very, very big and nicely furnished. It was exceptionally clean, and they did a great job maintaining the room throughout the stay. ​The Breakfast: They made a wonderful breakfast every single morning, complete with fresh scrambled eggs or hard-boiled eggs. ​Convenience: They provided everything we needed (like shower soap), and parking was very easy, which is a huge relief. ​If you are looking for a spacious, clean place that understands the needs of the military community and handles the paperwork correctly, this is it!"
