"The hotel is in a perfect area so if you’re only going there to sleep it’s perfect. The reason why it is 3 stars for me was because we weren’t able to check in until 6pm because they said the rooms weren’t ready. They never called us when a room was ready so the only reason we were able to check in at 6 was because we went to ask again. Also, the toilet in our bathroom was leaking each time you flushed & the nails separating the bathroom from the main area were up so my husband hurt his foot accidentally walking over it."

"I read a lot of reviews both good and not so good prior to booking and here’s what I can say. We loved the place. While it’s an extremely large, sprawling place it was also quiet and very enjoyable. There was a wedding taking place by the marina. The Abbey is kid friendly but also romantic for couples. In some of the reviews people discussed the upkeep. Sure they could do some updating and repairs but with the size of the resort, we felt that it was in very nice condition overall. Lots of parking, several pools (indoor and outdoor) plus hot tubs. There are a couple restaurants, a bar, live music and a coffee bar. We stayed in building 4 which was in the middle and very walkable to everything at the resort. The staff were very very friendly. Thank you for a nice overnight getaway, we will be back."

"Under construction. Poorly engineered access from parking lot to rooms. Most entries have high curbs with watch your step signs everywhere. Luggage carts are virtually useless due to high curbs and steps. Poorly kept grounds with trash all over the grounds. Not worth the $200+ stay including room rate, activity fee and pet charge. I’ll stay elsewhere next trip."

"Darling little place! People couldn’t have been friendlier. Food at restaurant and drinks at bar both great. Rustic feel which I love, but there was a birds nest with droppings on our patio which I could have lived without. Overall a lovely stay!"

"Very standard, budget feeling hotel overall. We were given a room that had not been cleaned (ew!) and they didn’t have the same room available elsewhere so we went to dinner while they cleaned it. When we checked in for the second time, they offered us a late checkout and a free item each for the inconvenience. That was nice, but for a prepaid room that was not available when we arrived… I feel like they could have done better. Breakfast was not great but not terrible… vanilla. Worst thing… connection for Roku was a nightmare… had to spend time on the phone with their tech support to get it working - never had that happen before! And it wasn’t a fluke because they had the tech support info right there! 😂"
