"We stayed in room 210 and we were disappointed with the bathroom facilities which was a portacabin block stuck in the room and was TINY. It ruined out stay to be honest because we booked 3 nights for a wedding in the area and wanted a nice place to get ready for the wedding and a mini break. It was a struggle to sit on the toilet as the door is literally in your face. No working extractor fan. This room is in serious need of attention because this isnt acceptable for over £120 a night.
We discovered some communal toilets on the groundfloor for the restaurant which we had to use instead. We nearly left and stayed somewhere else but because it was all prepaid didnt have much option. Worst hotel weve stayed at with expedia in years. Photos not representative."
"Great stay at Trethornes in the accommodation near the entrance to the site. Massive bed, lovely linen and superb breakfast. Had a few evening meals in the restaurant and was pleased with the variety and quality of the food. Staff lovely and helpful"
"Is a lovely hotel with a great atmosphere. It is located in a beautiful area and only a few minutes walk from Bostcastle centre. The staff are friendly and helpful. The bar is cosy. The restaurant is lovely and the food (although not much choice) is delicious. The sheets, bedding and overall conditions of the rooms are clean and comfortable. Sadly the fuses in our room "blew", so we had to move to an alternative room, which was extremely small, and not what we wanted, or had paid for. The staff were very empathetic, and allowed us to cancel the second night we had booked there and refund the money. Despite this hick-up we would have no problems in staying there again."
"Nice country hotel with a reasonable restaurant for dinner and very nice breakfast
Restaurant overlooks well kept gardens and it would have been lovely to eat alfresco on the terrace had the May weather been kinder.
Comfortable room with good tea/coffee making facilities….. fresh milk in the refrigerator every day which was a nice touch.
Comfortable shared sitting room in the main house.
We stayed 3 nights this quiet hotel mid-May and had an enjoyable stay. Parking was easy.
We ate one night at The Cornish Arms in Tavistock ( 10 min drive) which can be recommended. "
