"Nice little one night stopover visiting Bude. Ample parking and easy to find. Straight road into Bude. A little isolated so make sure you buy supplies from Bude on the way back. A few spiderwebs and bugs in the room when we arrived but only because the window was left open thankfully because it was such a hot day. Paula the host was very helpful and friendly start to finish. Will stay again if we visit Bude again."

"The view and setting really made the trip and the staff were so lovely, kind and helpful! Watching the sunset each evening outside on the rocks was glorious. The complementary breakfast was really great, fresh baked croissants and a list of hot options. The rooms were clean and basic but just want was needed really. "Very nice hotel but more suited to connoisseurs of food ,which was exceptional with prices to match. With only the al a carte menu I’m not sure it suit the average holiday maker unless eating out elsewhere most days. I spent over £350 for six evening dinners excluding wine. Sometimes after a days walking you just want steak and chips not a very prettily decorated plate as tasty as it maybe it’s not going to satisfy your hunger. I’m not knocking the food it was absolutely delicious but every night with no wholesome alternatives? Not for everyone. Save it for your 50th anniversary not a base camp for exploring Devon."

"This is a country hotel with rooms above. Our room which were very comfortable and appropriately furnished. The rooms are well equipped with a comfortable bed, plenty of storage, a coffee pod machine and kettle with a full tray offering various beverage options and biscuits / cookies. The staff were just brilliant and couldn’t be more helpful. We stayed during a particularly warm weekend and despite no air conditioning in our room, we were given two fans to cool it down. The food and particularly the breakfast was exceptional with plenty of choice which catered for every dietary need and it was also always served with a smile. The bar also had a great choice of locally brewed ales and spirits. All in all we had a very enjoyable weekend and we would definitely use The Port Gaverne again. Only slightly negative observation was that parking is limited and can be a bit of an issue at busy times due to the location, but this did not spoil our stay in any way."
