"Hotel McCoy is a hidden gem. Very eclectic and so fun. Room decor was so cool and interactive. Interior courtyard has so much to entertain your family. Only complaint - beds are too hard - they desperately need mattress toppers."

"This property is not ready for prime time! There were no amenities at all. No tissue, no paper towels , no utensils, nothing. Room 159 is in the adjacent building and I’m pretty sure that the building is in violation of numerous fire codes. Only one exit door at one end of the hall worked. The other doors were all locked. Should a fire break out the only exit would be to break a window to get out of the room. We checked out a day early due to these concerns without any refund."

"Room smelled extremely awful, so bad it was hard to breath it. Shower was messed up and wouldn't fully turn on and then sprayed half on the wall. Door had a large gap at the bottom that let light through all night and made every noise in the hallway sound like it was in the room, which made it difficult to sleep. Unfortunately, would not stay again, especially for the price, it was high."

"The staff was amazing! We had an issue with our reservation, not their fault. He did everything he could to help us. Air was good and cold!!! Bed was great!"

"The staff were so friendly! The room we had was not in the best shape. It was clean, but the air condition unit made a high pitched sound all the time. The shower was older and the floor was worn down on it. "

"We’ve stayed here before and conditions were much better. This time, Room 401, was atrocious. The A/C would not get the humidity out of the room no matter what the temperature setting. The Fan was set to AUTO but never shut off even though you could hear the compressor cycle. The sheets were “scratchy” which was another new problem. And to top it all off, worst of the problems, the toilet would “burp” water (and what was in it) out of the basin occasionally when attempting to flush. Since we were just there for one night, we cleaned it up ourselves. This doesn’t affect the room(s) but the carpet in the 4th floor hallway is filthy, stained and way overdue for a serious cleaning or replacement."

"Never had an experience like this before. Check in was fine until I went up to the room to find that the room details I booked through Hotels.com didn’t match what was given. Supposed to have a king with a queen pullout. There was no pullout, no other available rooms, and no working ice machines throughout hotel. Room was subpar clean. After a couple of weeks of persistence trying get a hold of someone, Hawthorn management said nothing they could do since it was booked through Hotels.com nobody has returned my call/email from Hotels.com either. Somebody dropped the ball big time on this scenario. Hope it doesn’t happen to anyone else. Highly disappointed!"
