The Winds motel was conveniently located for a quick drive from the ferry (we came from NS). We got in a little late, and the staff was super helpful to ensure we got access to our room. They also had helpful suggestion on local places to eat or visit. The room was a good size with a large TV, a fridge, a microwave, and a coffee maker.
The owner was great, very helpful & the room was the nicest motel I’ve stayed in to date. The price was great for what ya get, I’d definitely stay here again
Wind's is a small place set among peaceful farming fields. Our room was clean and comfortable and the staff were friendly and helpful. The photographic artwork in the room was splendid and a wonderful reminder of the island's natural beauty.
We were a bit apprehensive when we got to the motel when we could not locate anyone on site. I called the number and walked a short distance to the convenient store to check in. The room was so nice! Clean, quiet and there were chocolates on the pillows! It is right off the highway so there was some traffic in the early morning, but we had no trouble sleeping in the comfy beds! Highly recommend stopping if you are passing by!
We were looking for a Motel close to the Wood Island Ferry. This looked like it fit the bill. Not so much.
Anyway, we made the best of it. It's a cozy hide away if that's what you're looking for. Clean, isolated in the back country of PEI. Really quiet and dark at night, you can see stars!
Located behind a fuel station and a convenience store. The local people are friendly.
What a pleasant surprise to find this well kept motel. Little touches like chocolates on the pillows!! Most places have small tvs this one was very large!! It was clean, comfortable, quiet. There was 2 cold bottles of water in the fridge along with creamers for morning coffee. Was most appreciated.
Pros:
Staff were amazing. Very friendly and helpful. Place was clean and as far as motels go, was not dark or gloomy but rather cute and quaint. Parking was easy and it was perfectly situated in between Montague to the north (grocery shopping, pubs, pharmacy etc.) and the ferry crossing to the south.
Cons:
Curtain was ripped. Bathroom floor seemed to always be wet. AC was aggressive and no way to turn it down. Seemed a bit pricey for a simple motel.
All in all,
No one there to check in so went got another place so paid again. We bought insurance to cover a situation like this. Communicated with expedia and no help at all. Expedia said someone would be there to check us in. It was in the contract. No one was there. Want our money back for room
