They are currently renovating this hotel (March 2024) and we stayed in one of the newly renovated rooms.
Pros:
- very comfy bed with choice of firm or soft pillows
- cruelty free and vegan shower gel, soap and shampoo in the room
- good blackout curtains and very quiet location meant I slept well
- new room is well designed. There's a hairdryer and iron/ironing board in the room, a small open wardrobe to hang clothes and kettle with teas etc. Lovely bathroom with excellent shower.
- breakfast had a small but good range, including vegan hot and cold options.
Cons:
- the lift had broken on the Wednesday before we checked in on Saturday. Nobody attempted to contact me which meant we had to walk up to the 3rd floor (4th if you consider ground 1st floor) each time we went to our room. Unfortunately this was quite difficult for my elderly mother and pregnant friend. It would have been totally inaccessible for a wheelchair user. When we raised it with reception we didnt even get an apology from the man on reception.
Overall a good hotel with a short walk to the center of Windsor, castle etc.
