Unfortunately, this was easily one of the most disappointing hotel stays I’ve had. While the hotel itself is centrally located, the immediate area outside felt extremely uncomfortable. On several occasions, there were people loitering directly across from the entrance who appeared to be under the influence, watching and approaching people as they came and went. Going outside for a cigarette made me feel like a sitting duck. That situation was made considerably worse by the fact that the hotel key card repeatedly failed to let me back into the building. There’s a button to contact reception, but getting someone to actually answer it was another matter. Standing outside waiting to be let back in, particularly at night, was not a pleasant experience. The room itself was stiflingly hot, and despite trying to adjust the temperature, I simply could not get it cool enough to be comfortable. The frustrating part is that the hotel has a lot going for it in terms of location and convenience, but between the uncomfortable environment immediately outside, the unreliable entry system, lack of responsiveness from reception, and an unbearably hot room, I couldn’t wait to leave. I certainly wouldn’t stay here again.
