Would have liked more sugar in the room for tea. My room was near the main door, and there were people going out in the early hours of the morning to smoke and banging the first door you go through. Did not get much sleep. Otherwise, the hotel was good.

Great stay
Excellent stay, we were stopping there for some work in worksop! Inn was exceptionally clean, well prepared room! We didn’t try the restaurant but it looks extremely promising! Highly recommended for a quick stay or during travels.

Room great, breakfast poor.
Check in was easy and room was excellent in terms of cleanliness and comfort. Lots of shared rooms and banging of doors overnight but it's Saturday so understandable. Was thrilled to read about the breakfast options for the following day. Sadly on arrival I was told that today was a help yourself carvery breakfast. No pan akes for me then!. Worst of all was the coffee machine was broken, despite multiple staff trying to fix it it wasn't happening. No coffee in the morning wasn't the start I needed.

Canal walks are good with decent paths. Worksop is 20 minute walk but not worth the effort. The dual carriage way running behind the hotel is very loud all the time but the hotel on the canal side is quiet.

perfect stay for the working man
Check in was flawless, greeted by a lovely lady who checked me in , explained the residents car parking. the room was clean comfortable with a lovfly powerful shower, the food in the restaurant had a good variation and was cooked to my liking, all in all a pleasurable experience, i will be back

Lock Keeper Lodge
Lock Keeper Lodge was thoroughly enjoyable, room was extremely clean and all amenities conveniently situated for a comfortable stay. I loved the fact that you could have a lovely canal walk which was perfect for relaxing. I also enjoyed a perfect Carvery in the Lock Keeper Pub. Great value all round, highly recommended.

Very good for the price but…
The room was very good for the price range and breakfast was good too. My major complaint is that I was in room 107 and was woken at 4.30am by the very loud noises made by the water system- presumably heating. The noise persisted for an hour and by that time my night was ruined and I could not sleep. I was tired all day and didn’t enjoy my long drive home

No reception, room not cleaned properly
When we arrived the reception was closed (looks like it always is) so you have to go to the restaurant to check in which isn't ideal when you've got bags of luggage and carrying a baby. Whilst waiting we bumped into another couple who expressed their disappointment there was no reception and told us their room hadn't been cleaned on arrival. This left us worried. Once we finally had our key we found our room and in the bathroom was the dirty towels from the previous occupant! The rest of the room was clean and made up and the beds etc were comfortable.

Ok except the bed
The hotel itself is lovely, clean, well looked after. The staff were really helpful too. The bed however was a different story, really uncomfortable. Not a great nights sleep either night and woke with a painful back. This was not the case at another Marston's hotel a couple of weeks ago when the bed was the most comfortable hotel bed ever
