Outstanding
Excellent base from which to hike around Taroko Gorge. Xincheng is closer than Hualien to access the trails. This place is run by a wonderful couple; she is Vietnamese, he is Taiwanese and their son speaks excellent English. They are all very caring and will go the extra mile to help you. For us they helped organize hiking permits and shuttled us to and from the train station and lent us helmets and torches for the hikes. The breakfasts she cooks are delicious. The room is very clean and comfortable. There is a washing machine you can use. Overall a truly excellent set up.

Highly Recommended! Exceptional Host!
Bruce must be the best B&B host we have met. He gave us a free tour to Qingshui Cliff in his own car, stopping by a 7-11 to get lunch. It was a good two-hour tour. He picked us up from the Xincheng station because it was too late to walk to the B&B. He brought us to the trail head of the Zhuili Old Trail in Taroko National Park. We got back drenched and Bruce offered us the use of the bathrooms again after the hike, even after check out. He brought us to the station before heading to Taipei because it was raining. Breakfast was good. I would highly recommend this place.
