"Environment and onsen facilities are very good. Resturant staffs are very friendly and caring. We have an enjoyable experience with the hotel. The only thing i will pick on is the front desk staff when we checked in, not too friendly and have a bit of attitude."

However, please note: • The location is quite far from the seaside, about a 15–20 minute walk. • The building layout is complex, with many stairs. • Overall cleanliness is acceptable. • It is evident that the place is understaffed — most of the time, only one staff member is present. • It may be difficult to find assistance when needed, as the staff might be on an upper floor. • Breakfast is extremely simple. • Be aware that the curfew is at 11:00 PM"

"We (a couple) had a wonderful time in this very nice Ryokan. We stayed 2 days. The food was delicious and of high quality, the private onsen as well as the public mixed awesome very enjoyable. "We came to Japan to experience the culture. Hakone hotel Sensei was perfect. Beautiful room with private onsen. We also experienced the open air onsen. The dinner and breakfast was fantastic. My only complaint was too much food. "

"Check in process was not foreign friendly. The room was very old style with no private bath/ shower. Furniture with slight damage and worn carpet. 1960-1970-ish hotel. Hotel app needs work, not easy to use. Restaurant staff were very attentive. Indoor and outdoor hot spring bath were nice."
