Hospitality of staff and cleanliness of room, plus location across from the beach make this hotel stand out. I didn’t like having to go up 2 flights of stairs to access my room. Having a hot water pot & coffee bags in the room do not make up for not offering complimentary coffee or breakfast.

Floor was gritty with sand on arrival. Bathroom sink didn’t empty- slow draining, very slow draining. At our arrival Andy helped get us to our rooms- all that went smoothly. When I wondered where the volume remote was- all I needed came through with us texting back and forth. We were good with that. Also we felt the manager went out of their way to check on the timing and pick up of the trolley for a wedding we were there for. The staff was very accommodating.

Location is excellent, across the road to the beautiful beach, however if your room is not ocean front you will be quite disappointed. Rooms are very small and have one small window overlooking other people's decks ( almost within hand reach). Zero privacy. I felt claustrophobic. It had almost a cheap motel feel. Extremely loud A/C would not let you sleep. Restaurant is fabulous tho.

We have been going to the family cottage in York for years, it has since been sold so we opted to stay at Stones Throw - we had been to the restaurant in the past - what a great 3 nights - a truly fantastic property and view. The decor is perfect for a beach stay (*please add more hooks for hanging stuff in the bathroom and out) we were ocean front and the deck was the perfect size, the staff were all amazing, polite, helpful etc. The communication via text msg was a bonus. The food is really fantastic, love the bar drinks (pls add Kendall Jackson wine) We will be back next year - was just such a great trip! Thank you Stones Throw, you thought of everything! :)

Thank you all for making my stay so memorable and extra special - both as a hotel guest and restaurant patron! I stayed on my birthday and every single member of staff went above and beyond to help make me feel so welcomed and cherished. You are all amazing, but some extra shout outs to Andy at the front desk, and Emma and Savannah in the restaurant for making me feel like a million bucks and for spoiling the heck out of me. (Oh yeah, and the room is so well appointed, location can't be beat, and there are all the comforts you could need while here, so the hotel experience itself was awesome too.) Can't wait to come back and see you all again!

Staying here was the best decision we made! Right on the beach with an amazing outdoor restaurant with excellent food and drinks. All of the staff went out of their way to make us feel special and taken care of. We are an interracial couple and we are not always met with love...so we really appreciate the hospitality and warmth. We will be back!!!

The ocean almost laps at your door. Balcony rooms are an absolute must. Very eco friendly. Lovely staff. This is a gem.

Amazing view, very comfortable bed, and great coffee selection with the single serve machine! Quick walk to anything you desire, on-site restaurant (seasonal) and bar, but very quiet in the rooms themselves.

Even though it was off-season, we had a wonderful stay at the Stones Throw. It was great to have drinks downstairs ocean front, then go right up to your room.

A great beach-front location!
Great staff, manager always available, a well-thought-out reconditioning of a classic property. On-site restaurant was great as well, both visitors and locals in attendance. A "beach house" feeling in the room.

The website was a little deceiving. The room was small and unlike the pictures on the website. They didn’t provide daily upkeep. On Sunday I requested new towels, that weren’t delivered. I had to seek out housekeeping later in the day. Also the restaurant had crazy limited hours. Not like posted on the website. It served our purpose as far as location to a wedding that we were going to over the weekend. Other than that, it was a little disappointing.

Stones Throw was nice, but the room was too small, and the bed was okay but for two people, our room was too small, one had to sit down so the other could get by, my back hurt for the two days we stayed there. No microwave to reheat your food, the organic coffee was not my cup of tea, and The fridge was way too small, the steps going up and down were too steep, and not good for anyone with bad knees. Would I recommend Stones Throw? Yes, I would because it is right by the water and it was beautiful. The host who greeted us for check-in, has a beautiful smile and is very bubbly and always ready to help.
