Fuji is about 50 kilometers away and you can see it from a couple of train ride stops away whether permitting. On the other hand for customers with a certain age you may need to be prepared for slope climbing. For westerners who are used to having showers in the unit you might be challenged to use “public bathrooms”. Lastly it won’t hurt if you...

Top Yugawara Hotel Reviews

The Fujiya Hotel

8/10 Good

"Old school building"

RakutenSTAY FUJIMITERRACE HakoneAshinoko

10/10 Excellent

"We absolutely loved our stay here. The property and room was even more stunning in person than from the photos. The area was quiet and easy to access with a 711 right across the street. The highlight was the foot bath and private onsen in the room with a view of the lake and Mount Fuji."

The Prince Hakone Lake Ashinoko

10/10 Excellent

"Stunning grounds, comfortable rooms, slightly outdated decor. Unfortunately I couldn’t get coffee in the morning until restaurants were open. Would be nice to have free coffee and tea at early morning. Food in Japaneese restaurant was really overpriced for the quality of dishes ."
