"Almendros property continues to grow into a beautiful piece of property. A gated property with several villas on a multi-acres where sloths, toucans, parrots, macaws and many other birds and animals can be found. "

"My partner and I booked this property however when we arrived at 7pm, there was a large gate blocking the entrance and no one was there. We tried and tried to call and message the property and never received a response. La Fortuna is somewhat out in the country without many on the spot lodging options. It took us until 945 pm before we were able to get a far from desirable accommodations. We were preparing to sleep in our car by that time. We have yet to receive a refund or response. There...

"This was an absolutely fabulous place to stay for many reasons. The breakfast is excellent and if you get it included in your room, it’s an extraordinary value. The staff are wonderful and always seem to have a smile for you. The front desk staff, especially Astin, are helpful and will go out of their way to make sure you get what you need.
The grounds are impeccable. They keep them very well groomed and it’s an absolute joy to walk around to see the tropical plants, birds and little lizards and how beautiful they keep their property. It feels like a true tropical oasis. After a great day of fun activities, you always get to come back to a fabulous full-size pool that is extremely clean and very comfortable to sit in the sun just to relax.
The location just outside of the downtown is absolutely perfect. you get away from the noise and the hustle and bustle but it’s a six minute walk to all of the restaurants and bars and wonderful downtown of La Fortuna.
If you want the perfect location to be very close to all of the excursions and fun you can have, this is the place. A five minute drive to the zip lines, 3 to 4 minutes and you can go sloth hunting, 20 minutes to the volcano park and 25 minutes to the hanging bridges. You couldn’t ask for a better location.
My wife and I enjoyed our six nights at Arenal country Inn so much we know we will be back
Thanks for making it a perfectly experience"
"Even though we were very short on time, the breakfast was amazing, making something quickly so we could leave. The rooms were even more amazing, with a cute private balcony and a view! The staff made us feel like family. Would love to come again and have a room with a private pool."
"We stayed at this hotel for 4 nights during high season. We booked it because of the great reviews and the location. The positive - the grounds are lovely, the people working the front desk are pleasant and friendly, the bar out front has happy hour and a great bartender. We enjoyed food and happy hour there several nights. We had a deluxe room king size bed. There was plenty of space, it had a kitchenette and they provided coffee to make coffee in the morning. Coffee was also available at the front reception (bring your own mug or stay there to drink) ran out of take away cup
The bad - the bed is hard as a rock and the hotel lacks enough towels to provide clean towels or replace what we started with day 1. After the first day my washcloths were removed - never replaced. When I asked the 1st time I was told they did not have any more. Hand towels never replaced. On day three none of the towels were replaced and the one that was dirty on the floor was put on the counter in a pile. At this point I had to take all my towels to the front myself to get new ones and I was told they were short on towels because it is high season. I suggest the hotel buy more of each type of towel so they can provide at least a washcloth, hand towel and body towel daily. Ideally 2 body towels. They could also put up a sign saying if you don’t mind reusing towels to leave them hanging.
Only one body towel is allowed per person unless you take the dirty ones to the front to get new ones. "
"Staff was very nice and accommodating. I like that the receptionist / property manager gentleman would walk up to cars to make sure there they were actual guests and there for reason. (He walked up to us parking a few times, especially at night and I appreciated that) The property is beautiful, the bungalow was clean and pretty cool. Pool was great and the AC was pumpin! The property is Close enough to everything yet tucked away from the main road traffic. I would absolutely recommend Jungalo, You won’t be disappointed!! "
"Pros:
Good AC, hot water, clean, the grounds are beautiful, hot tubs are awesome, hiking trail in property, good breakfast, kind staff.
Cons:
We paid for a "mountain view" room but did not have a view of anything.
Wifi is basically nonexistent and there is barely any cell reception. No interet is a big problem and should be corrected."
"Perfect place. Tucked away down a quiet road just outside of fortuna. Beautiful restaurant and warm, clean pool. Great rooms and clean bathrooms, all pretty faultless. We were really happy here and wish we'd stayed longer.
Special thanks to Oscar in the restaurant for looking after us!"
